Additional Complaint Information

This company has a pattern of customer complaint alleging customer service issues and service issues. Specifically, complaints allege consumers purchased discount coupons from Living Social, Half Off Depot, or from Groupon for cleaning services; however, consumers have great difficulty reaching the company to schedule a cleaning appointment. Some consumers indicate several phone calls and/or emails are sent for appointment requests, but the company fails to follow up. Other complaints allege once the appointment is scheduled, the company fails to show up to complete the promised services. One complaint alleged the coupon was for a three-hour cleaning service, but that the company only cleaned for approximately two hours.

On July 9, 2012 BBB sent certified correspondence to Extreme Clean of Tennessee requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaint; however, as of today BBB has not received a response from the company.

This company has a pattern of customer complaints alleging iQor, Inc. continues collection efforts even after consumers have told company representatives they do not owe the debt, and without verifying the accuracy of the disputed information. Complaints in BBB files specifically involve some individuals receiving multiple calls, numerous hang ups, experiencing an inability to reach a customer service representative and others involve a failure to validate debts.

BBB met with representatives of iQor on March 5, 2014 to review the progress iQor made in resolving the underlying cause of the pattern of complaints BBB had received. iQor indicated they made personnel changes and were changing the culture of the business to be more consumer friendly. By the date of the meeting, BBB had received 51% fewer complaints as compared to the five months prior to our letter of October 4, 2013, when BBB sent return receipt email to iQor requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints. On October 16, 2013, The business responded and stated they were taking the following steps to eliminate the underlying causes for the pattern of complaints identified in BBB files:

1. Wrong Number - Due to the frequency that some consumers relocate, change carriers, or add phone lines, this industry does experience wrong numbers. Our policy allows all agents to remove wrong numbers; however, we understand that some consumers may choose to raise the issues directly to the BBB.

2. Cease Notices - As with wrong numbers, our agents all have the ability to cease collection efforts (including letters and calls) when requested. In these instances, consumers have elected to send the notice via the BBB. Most, if not all, of these had already been received by Allied.

3. Debt Dispute - This is another category where the BBB notice is usually our first notice that the consumer disputes the debt or requests validation of the debt. The FDCPA and our policy prohibits us from engaging in collection activity after notice of a dispute without first providing the consumer with verification; however, some of our clients will not provide that detail. They would rather recall the account and cease collections. We appreciate why a consumer believes we are ignoring the request, but that is not the case.

4. Repeat Wrong Party Calls - In this category, human error may occur. Other times, while the agent may have processed the wrong number correctly on the account during the call, that does not remove the same number on other accounts or if there are future placements with the same number. Agents will only have access to the client that they are authorized to work.

5. Unprofessional Behavior - We have zero tolerance for any unprofessional behavior directed towards a consumer.  Any conduct of this nature can and does result in immediate termination.

BBB continues to work with iQor, and this aspect of the Business Review will be updated when additional information becomes available.
