    I just had a pool installed last year and was told Quality Pools was a good company to use to open the pool this year. After getting what sounded like an estimate to me over the phone - he stated in a call later he said it was the AVERAGE pool opening cost he gave me - which was $400 I had them come to open the pool. Once the pool was opened, they charged my account $692.20. I emailed them about this overage, and did not receive a response back until I emailed again saying the lack of response makes me want to cancel them coming to clean the pool throughout the summer. Finally, I get on the phone with ******. He was immediately argumentative with me, cut me off in mid-sentences, and wouldn't make any kind of acknowledgement that almost $300 (75%) over what was "the AVERAGE" was out of the ordinary. And like I said - this is the first time I'm opening a pool, but instead of educating me or helping me understand anything, he was completely rude, and wouldn't even let me finish my thoughts getting to my main complaint....if they were going to need to use more than the usual chemicals, why not talk to me about it - I was there - I talked to the guys doing the opening (who WERE very nice by the way). Why not mention to me to give me a heads up..."Hey - we're having to use a lot more chemicals than we thought" or "Hey - your pool is larger than usual" or whatever was the reason charge me so much more, to let me know that what I thought of as the ESTIMATE would increase - let alone by 75%!! Or better yet, when you tell someone on the phone the AVERAGE is $400, give them the full range so that they are prepared for if it goes over. But I couldn't even get to this point on the phone with ****** (who I believe is the owner) due to him cutting me off and being so rude from the start that it made me get short and snippy in return.

    *****, I'm sorry to hear your first spring opening was a bad experience. I've read your review , spoke with ****** and read the emails between the two of you. We try to be as upfront as possible in regards to how we charge for work: in ******'s March 8th email, he wrote, "I can't give you a price on pool opening...because every pool is different," and the Labor Rate Acknowledgment you signed and returned clearly states, "...our work is done on a time & material basis..." In reviewing the invoice I see we had two trips out to your pool: first was the opening and the second was a return to vacuum so we actually performed two separate services, but billed under a single invoice. I think something just got lost in translation in regards to the services offered, how those service are billed and you being new to pool ownership. I'm happy to discuss if you'd like to call - Brian.
