Bought a MI home in the summer of 2021 and they tried to do everything they could to please us before closing. Once we closed on the house, we found so many problems with bad quality workmanship! They fixed some, but refused to fix others and kept ignoring calls and beat around the bush about fixing things. They didn’t install the fence correctly and most of us in this development have needed to replace the fence within 2 years because MI’s solution was to keep adding cement instead because they only dug the poles in 1 foot. String winds here knocked fences over and was told to claim it under our home owners insurance! The employees of the fencing company told me that the fence needed to be redone (before warranty was up) and MI said they wouldn’t do it because the workers needed to tell their boss it needed to be redone. They wouldn’t tell their boss because they admitted to being here illegally and didn’t want to lose their job. The workers and MI refused to ask the fencing company’s boss to come out and look too because “we can’t do that” and wouldn’t tell me why. My yard holds water most of the time it rains good because the grading wasn’t done properly either. My sprinkler system wasn’t installed correctly as the pipes weren’t dug into the ground deep enough and I know have leaks in the pipes that need to be fixed due to them being so shallow!. Even before our 1 year warranty was up, I had a private home inspector inspect our home and submitted the findings. When calling our contact person from MI to ask for updates in the items needing to be fixed, they lied me for 3 mos about waiting for a response from the subcontractors to fix things so I called the subcontractors myself & they told me MI never submitted a claim! *MI, don’t even bother to respond to this asking ME to contact YOU as it does NO GOOD because I fought with you guys so much before my year was up and you guys played the “it’s not our fault” on the problems you left us to deal with!
