Complaint: I called and asked for an estimate on repairing a leak on the flue pipe to the furnace. They made an appointment in witch I had to take a half a day off from work. I got home to find a message from the tech stating I was on his list for that day. I called him to let him know I was home and that he could come by. He said that he was on his way to ******** and that he would have to call his boss to see if he could stop at the house. I told him that I had taken off work and had an appointment. He showed up and looked at the pipe and said he would have to get with his sales manager and it was not a safety issue and they would get back to me. Roughly two weeks went by and I had to call them and was told some one would get back to me. Another week and was called back asking if any one had gotten back with me. I told the gentle no and said he would get some one to do so. Mean while I received what I thought was an estimate on replacing pipe. A week later I get a call from FH&C asking again if I had talked to any one and that's when I told them I received the estimate on pipe and not the inducer motor and that's when he said that it was a bill not an estimate. My problem is that no one said I would be charged for an estimate. I was not made aware of this and not only do I have a bill to pay but I lost more money by taking time off work. Buyer beware. Make sure you ask if Fairfield heating and cooling will be charging you for an estimate. You could call another company that does not charge you and that money could go toward your repair.
Desired Settlement: I do not want charged for an estimate.
Even though we disagree with some of the statements that were made we do agree with the main complaint that we did not follow up in a timely fashion with an estimate for the repair of the furnace. For this we are truly sorry and per the customers request we have credited the entire bill for the service call.
BBB's Final Determination: Consumer accepted resolution offered by the business.
