Complaint: diagnosing wrong part on my car. changed good part.charged me than would not fix or return money. on 01/30/12. ******'s auto service was paid to fix my power steering on my 2002 ford taurus car.he calls me and tells me it would be 3 hundred dollars. i say ok. he calls me back with in one hour and says he changed the pump. but the rack and pinion needs changed.that will coast 8 hundred. i told him i can't pay 8 he said 3.he told me that the old pump was good that i should have told him that pump was good and i owed him 3 hundred or he will keep my car.i payed 3 to get my car back without the power steering being fix.than he told me he will fix it right for $559.35 .he said next time i need to know what needs fixed.needles to say he changed a part than diagnosed the problem than charged me.

Desired Settlement: refund of 265.75 or my power steering fix right.

Business Response: Business states: "On or about January 29,2012 Mr. **** called and asked for an estimate to replace his power steering pump. I gave him an estimate of $265.75. On January 30 he brought his vehicle in and asked that his power steering pump be replaced. He asked for the pump to be replaced, thus saving himself our standard diagnostic charge of 1 hour labor. As you can see on his bill (invoice number ****) no diagnostic charges were billed. Alter replacing the pump (at his request) I noticed that power steering fluid was pushed back out of the power steering pump reservoir upon vehicle shut down. I called Mr. **** and explained that replacing the power steering pump did not fix the problem. I also explained that in order to fix the problem he would need the power steering rack to be replaced. I gave him an estimate of $559.35. In response to Mr ****'s complaint of his vehicle being misdiagnosed, this is simply not true. As is evident by his bill you can see no diagnostic charges were billed. We simply provided a service he asked us to perform. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 614-********."

Consumer Response: (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Being that good workmanship was not an inheritance at leffler's I came to realize that getting a compromise and professional work ethic from leffler's truck rentals and auto shop is like getting blood from a stone. just is not going to happen. Any more calls from leffler will be considered harass...Mr.****
