WORCESTER, MA - October 8, 2008 - Limited sponsorship opportunities for the 2008 BBB Torch Awards Banquet featuring Dateline NBC-s Chris Hansen still exist, but time is running out. The BBB Torch Awards Banquet is an annual celebration of local businesses, recognizing two BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics winners, a BBB Student Ethics scholarship, and long-term BBB Accredited Businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries of their commitment to ethical business practices when joining BBB. Hansen will deliver a timely address on "Protecting Yourself from Online Predators," educating audience members on avoiding scams and keeping teens safe on the Internet. This year-s event will be held Oct. 29 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Worcester.
Hansen-s speech will be a highlight of BBB-s annual awards event, this year honoring Home Staff, LLC of Worcester and JM Remodeling of Webster with the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, and Brendan Burke, a senior at Burncoat High School in Worcester, recipient of the BBB Student Ethics Award. The program will also feature the WPI Jazz Ensemble, a cocktail hour, dinner, and a silent auction.
There are several sponsorship opportunities at a range of financial levels, offering exceptional value and significant media coverage to sponsors in association with the event. The deadline to sign a sponsorship agreement is Oct. 20.
Details on the Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Torch sponsorship opportunities and reservation forms are available online at http://central-westernma.bbb.org/torch or by calling Rose LaFleur at 413-594-2163 Ext. 105.
