I ordered six cords of green split wood at $160.00 a cord. Five cords were delivered.
The wood was delivered March 25 and 26 2013. I paid cash $480.00 for each load. After I resplit the wood and stacked it in my wood shed, which holds exactly 5 cords, the shed was not full.
Due to health issues this was not completed until recently. I the called AAA firewood, also known as Charlton land clearing, and told them I was short a cord of wood. I told the person that I talked to that I hoped that we could resolve this and not have to take further action. Where upon he took that as a threat and went into a rage swearing, name calling etc.

I am looking for $160.00 bank check from this company for the cord of wood I did not recieve

Thanks for your assistance and clarification last week on the above issue. In the 35 years that Charlton Land Clearing has been in operation we have never received any type of formal complaint. We have had a 100% success rate of resolving issues through peaceful mediation. We are proud to have customers that have been with us from the very beginning. They are like family to our family.
In direct response to the written complaint we state:
'' We were contacted by the consumer approximately 60 days after the wood was delivered. Consumer initiated the conversation by declaring if he did not get what he wanted he would make our lives **** by contacting all available agencies. The wood was dumped on a part of his property that bordered a busy road. He was absent from this property for an extended time due to health issues. Stated he had since re-split the wood and packed it in a shed on the property. His tone was aggressive and argumentative. We explained to the consumer about our policies regarding sales. ( please see attached policy) He began to threaten and swear. Admittedly, *** ***** (*****) feeling threatened did respond initially by returning curses. Then *** ***** recognizing the futility of more conversation chose to end it. ''
You have our assurance, despite the violations of policy, if the consumer had been peaceful and willing to negotiate we would have offered something to maintain customer satisfaction.
We are also aware that Rutlands Weights and Measures was contacted by the consumer to confirm his complaint. They were unable to do so. They were unable to come to any viable estimate due to the alterations in the wood, and the way, and where, it was stacked etc. That fact alone speaks for itself.
We are saddened that a customer remains unsatisfied and carries such anger regarding our transaction but we are convinced we have followed our policies and attempted peaceful resolution.

Charlton Landclearing and Firewood, aka AAA Firewood, GENERAL CONSUMER POLICIES:

All SALES are guaranteed UNCONDITIONALLY for 30 calendar days. Through peaceful negotiations with consumer, resolution will be accomplished for both parties.
Firewood Pricing and Telephone price quotes on Firewood:
If there is a current running ad in print (Worcester Telegram, Craigslist, etc) the printed price is the current price and the price remains in effect as long as the ad is in print.
A verbal quote by phone or in person- The price is honored for 7 days.
Advertised prices may not include delivery charges to some areas or additional customization costs. These are NOT hidden costs, the consumer will be aware of them prior to scheduling delivery.
The Consumer has the right to refuse a load for delivery prior to dumping the wood without any cost or liability to the consumer.
If the consumer feels there is a discrepancy in the amount delivered. The wood must be measured the way deemed appropriate by State Weights and Measures: BEFORE altering the wood, either by trimming or splitting, debarking etc....the wood should be stacked in a cubic block measuring 4X4X8. 128 cubic feet is a legal cord. No FACE cord measures. ( 1 long row). We will also need to measure the wood.
Checks will be accepted on a person to person basis. We do not accept credit/debit cards. No 3rd party checks. No ''starter checks''. No out-of-state checks.
Checks returned for insufficient funds: The Consumer has 14 days to remit $50 returned check fee by money or money order to the business.
Business Head invoices can be prepared as receipt, if requested by Consumer prior to delivery date.
We do not sell wood from our home/business locations. Exceptions can be made and is left to our discretion.
We ONLY sell hardwood that is chosen by a State Forestry Contracts in locations in Central Mass. Our wood is inspected and chosen individually by a State Forester. It is contracted for firewood sales.
