Read Complaint Details
Complaint: We had a coupon for service to be performed by DC Tile through "Angie's List" for a tile install to be done in our bath room. We met at my house and after they look at the job that needed to be done, we both agreed on the pricing and I signed the DC contract for that specific amount on Angie's coupon. Once they started the tearup of the tile and removing the tub DC came back and said they can do this job because they are losing money by honoring the coupon and I needed to come up with more money inorder to continue with the work. Well my bath tub had been removed and tile removed I had to come up with more money. Then came the problems with trying to get workers out to my site to continue the work this started on June 23, 2014. Well I received a call that one of their workers was out sick that it delayed the previous job they had and would reschedule me the following week which I agreed. On July 7th they but no-show until July 11th when they showed up at 3:45pm and didn't see them till July 14th. Then problems are still occuring on pricing when it was time to install the tile they said that the type of tile to be installed involved more work because of the quality of the tile, they were asking for more money and this is even before the job was started they saw what kind of tile it was. So I ended up paying double of what I want to pay. Now at the end of their job my shower floor was puddling up at one end because the slant of the shower bed was not sloped correctly according to DC Tile and they would correct this problem. They said they would cover the expense of buying the new tile that was going to be installed, I went out and bought the tile costing me $269.00 and they came out to fix the slant on floor and reseated the new tile. Then I questioned about the agreement that they would reimburse the $269 and their response was "that I would observe the cost of the tile if they did a good job". The other thing was scheduling their workers come out, they would tell me that they would be there on certain days and they would never show up. I have text messages that I've kept to back me up.
Desired Settlement: Warn other consumers about this company that they are not true to their word.
