Problems with Product/Service

Complaint: JL plumbing gave us an estimate if 150.00 over the phone to replace sink. They did not ask any additional questions like have you measured the sink and is there a garbage disposal with the sink? When they arrived at the property a lot of things changed: 1) All of a sudden they had to charge more to install the sink because it did not fit and they had already removed and ruined ours. 2) Then they said they did not reinstall existing garbage disposals but could sale us a new one for 285.00. Which we had no choice but to buy it. 3) There Labor Guarantee says we have 30 Days on parts and Labor the faucet would not turn after the 20 days, so we called them back out. They came out and put oil around it, then sent us another bill for 95.00, which should have been covered under labor. The final bill ended up costing us $547.00, plus the $95.00 for the call back.
Desired Settlement: A refund of $397.00, the difference of the original estimate of $150.00. Also drop the $95.00 charge for coming back out for repair still covered under the Labor Guarantee.
Business Response: The owner himself actually went to this job. When ***** spoke with him on the phone he made it clear that the sink would have to be the same size and everything would need to match up to keep the cost down. When he arrived at the job, the new sink was a different size. In order to make the new sink fit, the countertop had to be cut. We informed the gentleman on site of the situation and he approved cutting the countertop to accommodate the new sink. Once the countertop was cut, the old sink was no longer going to fit, which again was explained. The homeowner was told that if the sink was a different size from the original, everything would change. He then proceeded to purchase a sink that was a different size anyway. As for the disposal, the one on site was leaking. We did refuse to put the old, leaking disposal in due to liability, but it was up to the gentleman on site if he wanted a new one installed. No plumber in their right mind would have put that disposal back in. The homeowner also supplied the faucet that we were called back for. It clearly states on our invoice that there was no warranty on any customer supplied material. The faucet purchased is a Glacier Bay, which we would NEVER purchase ourselves or give ANY warranty on. The warranty was on our installation only. The body of the faucet not moving properly was a manufacturer issue, not an installation issue. We will not refund anything and the $95 is still due and will be sent to collection if not paid.
