I hired Hillco *************** / Hillco ************ / *************************** to selectively clear our property in ************, ** and he never completed the job. I had walked the property with him, pointed out the areas to be cleared, identified and marked trees to be save, showed him old piles that needed to be moved/burned and we negotiated a price. I followed up with texts along with detailed instructions as well as maps with the areas outlined. He confirmed receipt of the instructions and replied all will be done. Only one worker (****) showed up and ***** did not show up on site. He even joked that "maybe he'd show up". I live out of the area, but was in town for the initial part of the clearing. Unfortunately, I was called away on business and left before the completion and couldn't perform a final inspection. ***** assured me everything was done and since he was a referral from a good source, I trusted him and sent payment.However, after recently visiting our property, only about 70% of the job was completed and he never came back to burn a large pile even though he said he would after the burn ban was lifted in the area last October. For the areas that were cleared, his company did an excellent job, taking care to save smaller live oaks, red oaks and larger, mature cedar. They did a good job, but didn't complete it.I've made numerous attempts to contact him since the job and he doesn't respond and his voice mail is full. I attempted to contact him through his ******** page and after all of my available options had failed, I left reviews about his company on various web sites. Since leaving the reviews, it does appear that they are still operational because they have taken down their sites.
