I moved from a previous place that I lived using Pedernales as my electric company, I made a call in late 2011 to inform that I was moving out of the residence, I was informed that the person that was going to stay living at the address needed to go and get their name and paperwork done to avoid disconnection, within the last year I'm getting harassing calls from them that I have a payment due from a couple of years ago. I have explained this to them to multiple people in the ** department and accounting, response is like it ***** to be your kind of an answer from them. I've been in the current address 5 going on 6 yrs, was leaving at this address while the alleged usage due amount. They drop the ball on their end and now they are trying to penalized me for their mistake

PEC (Pedernales Electric Cooperative) closes reported power outages without fixing them during big storms. I don't know if they do this to make their metrics look good, but it is frustrating to keep re-opening a power outage incident report. Without power it is also hard to keep recharging my devices to ensure there is an open power outage ticket. I watched a PEC service truck stop in front of my house. I thought they came to help us. Then I saw that PEC closed my outage ID on their Outage Map, even though my power was still out. Then the truck drove away. The driver never stepped outside of the vehicle. I had to re-open my outage report, but they eventually closed it out again without actually resolving it. I re-opened it and several hours later it got closed again. This game has been going on and on. Perhaps they are doing this to make their statistics look great by "fixing" outages, which do not actually get fixed. This has been happening during a time that there are thousands of outages from a bad winter storm, so I suspect the inflated data helps them get disaster re-imbursement from the government. Speaking of the government, my local government has allowed PEC to have a monopoly agreement to be the only residential electricity service provider in my neighborhood. I wish I had the option to choose a different company, but the government took away that right.

We appreciate when our members provide valuable feedback concerning their experience with PEC. Member satisfaction is one of our highest priorities and we regret when we fall short of that goal. For answers to questions regarding the winter storm, please review our online FAQs at pec.coop.
