On 8/19/21 I contacted ************************* at ************* and Granite and placed an order for flooring. The company was unable to provide the floor I wanted and suggested I order a vinyl flooring they had installed in numerous homes in the area. Cost for floor $11,525.00 deposit of $5762.50 was required. Vinyl Artisan collection item 3KW5512B ********************* From ***************** Company delivered on 10/14/21 and installed 10/19/21 We became ill from the strong smell of formaldehyde. 11/8/21 I contacted ***** and explained we were experiencing flu symptoms since the floor was installed and asked to to have the floor removed immediately. 11/09/21 *****, brought ************************ to our home, He is Territory Manager with ******************* company from ******* *****, their Distributor. Nov. 10th ***** brought ***************** with Efficiency Air ran quality test results VOC **** *********** was present and asked we open window and vent the house. The floor was removed Nov 11th VOC dropped to **** a week later- we chose another floor but the $17,000.00 cost was not acceptable and **** tile could not provide a product within our price range. The formaldehyde smell was so strong it made us ill so we installed a Pristine Air unit cost $1869.00 on the advise of BVS Services which helped us recover and gave us peace of mind, *********** refuses to return our deposit even though he has filed a claim with Con *******, Regional Claims Specialist for ***************** for the flooring. He claims since the floor was damaged when his staff and the installers he provided removed and made it unsalable. *********** has his floor, My deposit and has filed a claim to recover his funds. I want my deposit $5762.50 the cost of the Pristine Air refunded a total of $7631.50. I allowed *********** to bring his distributor to examine the flooring in my home, I allowed him to run test proving the air quality on the floor which was highly contaminated and a second test showing air quality improved after the floor was removed.
