On 6/2/21 a storm damaged the roof of my 30x12ft deck The roof was blown up on top of my house I was referred by State *********** to Sedgwick, who recommended Renaissance Contracting LLC (RC) for repairs On 6/10 RC surveyed the damage and submitted an estimate for repairs ************* settlement was $11,082. From RC comms On 6/15 will start "next few days" 6/21 something "under review with Sedgwick" 6/23 "would start in 1-1.5 days" 7/29 "will start by 8/5" On 8/2 storm debris was removed. On 8/3 agreement was made JD/ALM $3900 when debris removed, $3900 due when materials delivered balance when job complete Terms confirmed on 8/4 RC invoice ***** $3900 was paid check #****. 8/15 RC was informed roof leaks during first rain since debris removed causing $905 interior sheet rock damage. RC asked why roof wasn't tarped RC reply was" because we didn't know it would leak" indicating inadequate inspection RC comm 8/26 "will make some calls" and "we are suggesting design changes and engineering so awning is constructed properly" 8/31 "will get engineering started" Due to design changes, engineering, permits the cost escalates to $30,773 10/29-30 rough ********* work 2x12 hrs installing rafters completing 60% of deck awning. 7/16" OSB sheeting was installed instead of 1/2" OSB sheeting without 6x6 posts or hurricane clips. 11/24 painter takes 2 gal paint to match colors value $110. On 12/1 after an exchange of messages with RC informing me they were unable to complete the project I chose to terminate them and find other contractors. Via 2 emails 12/1, 1 email 12/10, and registered mail 01/03/22 RC was asked to send itemized invoices. To date the response has been lump sum invoices with "this is what SF ins will pay" and entering data on a website Levelset. RC are overcharging for 6x6x14 posts not delivered *********+debris removal work not performed and threatening a lein on my property I seek deductions of $5597 plus $905 for sheet rock damage from invoice *****
