I purchased a vehicle from McCombs Ford West located at ************ 410 on Jan 27, 2023. I took out a bank loan for the purchase of a 2019 **** Expedition Platinum *** for $45,704.00. When I purchased the vehicle from my **** ******** I was aware of the high mileage but felt confident in the purchase because of the facts presented about the care of the vehicle before my purchase. In August, I had to take my vehicle in for a maintenance check at the **** Dealership because while driving, I would feel a hesitation when the truck would go into the next gear. The service tech informed me that the diagnostic conducted showed the spark plugs were misfiring and a possible transmission issue. The quote I received to fix the spark plugs would be almost $2,300. The tech advised me that the best solution would be to replace the transmission. However, the quoted cost was near $8,500. I explained and showed the service tech that I have the extended warranty (which is attached) and also bumper-to-bumper coverage up to ****** miles which is ******* miles on my vehicle. I was told at the time that my warranty would not cover the spark plugs nor any transmission issues. I have since contacted McCombs dealership and spoke with ******************* to get a better understanding of my warranty. As of yesterday, 10/31/2023, my check engine light has come on and I am afraid to drive my vehicle especially with my kids in the car. I am the person responsible for transporting our children to and from school as I own the family vehicle. Installing a new transmission is a large expense for most. I have a family of 8 and my vehicle is something we cannot go without. This is a difficult situation to be in and an inconvenience because my husband is military and because of his military duties, he is not available often times. Since bringing this issue to the attention of McCombs Ford West, I have not been offered any help nor communication about my warranty that seems to be a waste as it does not cover the items promised verbally. The contents of the warranty were misrepresented to me at the time of purchase. I was under the impression that a bumper-to-bumper warranty would cover everything contained between the front bumper to the back bumper excluding tires. As I have not owned this vehicle for a year, paying an expense of $8,500 to put it in working order was not an expense I anticipated nor one I am sure I can afford.
