Back early this year I had my dog scheduled for neutering for yesterday 5/2/23. I advised that he has a history of seizures and this should be noted on his chart from previous visits at this vet. On 5/2/23 I had my dog neutered. I gave my boyfriend permission to drop the dog off the morning of 5/2/23. He approved for a neutering and a rabbis shot that morning. I picked the dog up around 3:30PM the same day and his invoice had a neutering, rabies, parvo shot and check up, all not approved by me, the owner, resulting in my dog seizing today 5/2/23. The office manager insisted today 5/3/23 that whoever brings a dog in can approve whatever they want and they will do it even if that person is not listed on the dogs medical account. I asked if my boyfriend if he was listed on the account, and he stated no. I told him that it was not right for anyone except the owner listed to approve any medical treatments and I should have been contacted as my boyfriend is solely used for drop off ONLY. The office manager decided to argue with me instead and stated this was not their fault. He had no papers signed by my boyfriend authorizing any additional medical treatments to be conducted. He stated that they do not need to call the owner to approve medical decisions for the dogs and they can go by what the person who is dropping the dog off says. I feel this is not right what so ever. My boyfriend was not listed on the account to approve anything. However, when he was there he did approve ONLY a neutering and a rabbis shot. The clinic decided to add in a vet check up and an additional vaccine that was not approved or discussed resulting in my dog having another seizure.
