San Antonio's Laws of Life Essay Contest helps students in determining the values that will guide them throughout their lives.
The Laws of Life Essay Contest was first held in 1987. The contest is endorsed by the National School Boards Association and is on the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ National Advisory List of Student Contests and Activities. The purpose of The Laws of Life Essay Contest is to allow for students to determine the values which will guide them throughout their lives.
The essay contest rules do not restrict the content; rather, the students are to write “from the heart”. All of the young essayists are honored at an award ceremony in front of their parents, teachers, school administrators, and members of the community. These award ceremonies are sponsored by responsible individuals, youth groups, character education organizations, civic groups, corporations, local businesses, foundations, schools and colleges interested in helping young people in the San Antonio area develop their lifelong guiding values.
