Desired Settlement: if the job can not be finished I want some of the money back!!

Complaint: I had an automatic gate powered by a solar motor installed by Serrato's Burglar Bars in September 2014. Since then, I have had to call them several times to come perform follow-up repair or service to the gate and motor. Each time, it has taken two weeks or longer to have them come do the work. Each time, *** ******* promises to have his workers come do the work "later this morning," then "this afternoon," and finally "tomorrow morning for sure." I have had to call him several times a day to remind them. Each time he tells me he's sending someone. I have wasted many days waiting for him and/or his workers. I began experiencing this when the motor chain began dragging after installation. Most recently, on Nov. 7, 2014, I called *** ******* to tell him the boards/planks for the gate are falling off because the screws he used are breaking. Also, the gate posts need to be painted. Again, he promised someone would come later that day, then tomorrow morning, then this afternoon, and on and on. Today, is Nov. 17, 2014, and I'm still waiting. I've called him several times each day. I am very disappointed and upset. It seems that once he took full payment for the gate, I became a very low priority. I wonder if he's treating other customers this way. I want him to honor his word and let me know what's going on. Why should I have to be calling him?

Desired Settlement: *** ******* should apologize. More importantly, he needs to change company policy to make prompt follow-up work and/or repairs a priority. He needs to keep his promises and call the customers if there is going to be a delay.

  • *** ******* went to place of job site and showed *** *******  the screws he was complaining about were already in place *** ******* was not aware the screws were in place . The  gate needed a small retouch so Mr. Serrato went ahead and retouched a small corner of gate and *** ******* gave his approval of job.*** ******* said he was going to call The BBB to let them know he was satisfied with job.If you have any more questions please call *** ******* at ***********8  Thank you   Serrato Burglar Bars                                                             

Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The reason I did not know the screws had been added was because the owner's son did not call to inform me he was coming.  I still don't know how he got in the gate.
