Complaint: The store associate gave me wrong information regarding repayments, in result sending my account into collections.The young lady said they would let the non payment go to collections in which they would seek an affordable repayment option. When corporate called they gave me the option of paying in full today, or paying $500; which was nothing that the customer service rep had explained to me in the beginning. Also, the store manager volunterred another person's loan information to me as well as let me pay for the other person's loan without their permission. The store manager, ****, and his female associate were very unprofessional when customers came into the store. The young lady would talk about her drinking sessions from the previous night, and **** would ask a million questions into the customers own personal life as well as speak about his family situation, and issues. Another time entering the store the female associate was multiple hours late, and **** was seeking advice from me on what I would do if I were in his position, since this was his first manager position. Overall this place is not managed well, incorrect information is given in which putting myself into a finanical crunch, and privacy laws are being broke as well. Product_Or_Service: Pay Day Loan

Complaint: I pawned my tablet in May of 2014. I was given 60 days to make a payment from the day I pawned it. Before the 60 days was up, I went in and "renewed the loan" as the employee told me would be my best bet. When I renewed my loan, NOTHING was explained to me so I assumed I had another 60 days to make a payment before they sold my tablet. Around or after the 30th day, I contacted EZ ***** to see how much my payment would be. They then told me that my tablet was on their floor to be sold and that it now belonged to the store. I asked to speak to the manager and he was of no help at all. I asked for their corporate number. He gave me the number of a man named ****. I called **** numerous times and left messages for him to please call me back as I DID NOT want my tablet sold. I wanted to pay my loan amount off and get my tablet back but **** NEVER answered nor returned any or my calls or texts. VERY, VERY POOR SERVICE!

Desired Settlement: I would like to have my tablet taken off of their display floor and given the chance to purchase my tablet back at the amount I was given for the loan ($80). They have it on the floor at the price of $150. I was only loaned $80 for it and should be able to get it back at that amount especially considering nobody explains anything to the customers there

Complaint: This company has been constantly harassing me every year the last 4 years for a debt that i have paid off 3 years ago. They continue keep getting different legislators calling my family for the same debt. They keep saying its a different debt. I have only taken out 1 payday loan out in my whole life and i will never take one out ever again. Knowing how horrible of a company this is. I have paid them off 3 times. Every time i have paid them off they say everything is taken care off. I have all the receipts from the 3 times i paid them off. They constantly been threatening of warrants and jail time for this debt. I am filing this complaint because after they contacted me again on 7/2/2014. Threatening me with warrants unless I don't pay this bill. I told them I going to sue them for harassment. After contacting legal help. They told me to file a complaint with the BBB. I have the receipts if you need to see them.

Desired Settlement: I would like to get all my money back , but mainly just want them to leave me alone. They have gotten plenty of money from me in the last 3 years. Over $2000 for a $500 payday loan that has been paid off for 3 years now.

EZ has researched the account and found that this debt was sold to a debt buyer on April 30, 2010. . They no longer have the account in their possession because they too have sold the debt to another debt buyer. They have in turn contacted the debt buyer. Their feedback to us was that this debt buyer has since gone out of business.

We have exhausted all of our avenues in attempting to contact the debt buyer. Had we been able to contact the debt buyer, our request to them would've been to close the account and cease calls. Please accept our sincerest apology as EZ feels that they have done their due diligence in an attempt to satisfy all parties involved in this complaint. We conducted research on the account of Ms. ******* ****** and have detailed our findings in the bullets listed below:

·         Customer acquired a loan with EZMONEY on May 8, 2014 and her first payment was due on May 22, 2014.

·         On May 20, 2014, EZMONEY provided a courtesy call to the customer to remind her of her upcoming payment that was due on May 22, 2014. There was no answer and therefore we left a message.

·         Between the dates of May 22, 2014- May 27, 2014, EZMONEY made several attempts to contact the customer. EZMONEY did not hear from the customer and we had not received a payment. The customer agreed, found in the signed customer contract, to make a payment on May 22, 2014 in the amount of $297.53.

·         On May 28, 2014, this account was set to be sent to have the entire balance drafted from the customer's bank account. This draft agreement is found in the signed customer contract.

·         As a courtesy to the customer, our associate held the deposit for a few days in order to avoid having the account drafted on that May 28, 2014.

·         On June 4, 2014, the account had an ACH from the customer's checking account for the entire amount of the loan.

·         On June 9, 2014, the account was drafted for the entire amount due of $1,212.43. The draft came back with a returned as a stop payment had been placed on the draft. The customer then incurred late fees of $49.73 and an NSF fee of $30.00.

·        
Between the dates of June 9, 2014 to today, EZMONEY has made several attempts to contact the customer to make payment arrangements with her as well as trying to address her BBB complaint but have been unsuccessful in reaching the customer.

EZMONEY have instructed the store to stop calling the customer immediately and therefore halting any phone calls being made to her. This customer will only be receiving calls from our collections center as this customer is truly in default.

EZMONEY will send a letter, at the address on file, to the customer. EZMONEY would like to assist Ms. ****** by offering her a payment arrangement but we need for her to return our collection calls at ###-###-#### or simply answer her phone when our collections department is calling.

Complaint: I purchased a laptop from this company, and I paid for faster shipping. The company STOLE my money, and did not honor the faster shipping. They quit responding to me or ******** requests for assistance. At the beginning of the process they did respond, and said they do not offer faster shipping. I asked why there was an option to pay for faster shipping, and a guy named ****** said that must be an ****** thing. However, the company STOLE my money for the faster shipping, and would not honor it. It looks like the company steals buyer's money for shipping costs for faster delivery, and then does not do it. I at first filed a claim with ****** for a refund of the shipping costs, since EZCORP refused to give it back. Then I filed claims and sent emails to get all my money back, and they are ignoring ALL requests. This company needs investigated for allowing buyer's to pay for faster shipping, then not provide it. They steal buyer's money, and no one has stood up to them until now. I think a class action lawsuit needs filed, and anyone that purchased from this company and paid for faster shipping needs to file.

Desired Settlement: I want a refund back for ALL money paid to this company! I also want pain and suffering compensation!

Desired Settlement: I would like Texas EZMoney LP to contact the Internal Revenue Service and provide documentation supporting the payment agreement and settlement of this debt that I paid in accordance with our mutual agreement. I would also like them to ask the IRS to correct this error and remove it as taxable income for 2012.

Complaint: I submitted my gold products for loan purposes. I was told that if I added extra money this would decrease the money owed on my loan which is 620.00. Before Friday i was able to get a print out of my receipt each time I paid my loan, but Friday May 16th, 2014 I was unable to do so. I was told that I had to add another 100.00 before I could receive this receipt in which I had never done before, instead I was told that i would receive a white retail receipt and in order to get my merchandise out the price would be $868.00 plus $124.00 if I wanted my merchandise back. I have been paying on this loan $124.00 since December 2014 and the price continues to rise. While my husband was in the store a lady came in to retrieve her merchandise and the clerk told her that they had sold it because they did not receive payment. They had an argument, the customer told her that she had called and she was told to come in. After hearing what the store told her the customer noticed that one of the employees was wearing her merchandise and she called the police came. The clerk talked to the Riverside policeman and he left. The clerk said to me "If you don't pay the merchandise is mine!" I too noted a line of jewelry adorning her neck and arms.I stated to the clerk that this was a new process that they had implemented since last month and she avoided my statement and went on to say that the finance charge is the key. Complaint: Received a call from a ###-###-#### Person stating they name was ****** ***** and states I need to pay on loan issue that was four years ago and had already spoke to someone in collections about this in the past. This person threatened to press charges on me and refused to let me speak he said I was going to jail and he was going to submit a warrant to get me picked up. First of all if they followed FDCPA procedures they can not call a cell phone it has to be contact by landline, second they need not read collections mini Miranda, third violation of practice they called and made a threat and after 30 minutes I was contacted by a guy impersonating he was with *** ***** County Sheriff and stating he had process paperwork for my warrant to get arrested they used the Sheriff's number ###-###-#### after he stated what he stated he hanged up I called Sheriff's number no warrants were issued under my name. If this was not done by Ez ***** it was done by the company they sold my information to and therefore they are responsible for this actions. All this actions are in violations of federal collection practice act. I can sue company for millions for all violations made.

Desired Settlement: I want my record cleaned, my name taken off all agency's they have sold my information too. And a payment made to me of 5000 for the threats made.

Complaint: Within the first week of March, after making a four hundred fifty dollar payment on my title loan, I called to see if I could get an extension on paying off the remainder of my balance. I initially had an agreement with one customer service operator that informed me that if I could pay the four hundred fifty dollars per month, all I would have to do is request an extension and one would be granted as long as I pay the four hundred fifty dollars per month. When I called this time, I was informed that the person I made the agreement with was no longer with the company and I would no longer be granted any more extensions. I then informed the new customer service representative that I did not have twenty four hundred dollars and if I could just be granted a few months more time, I would be able to pay the balance off in full. I was then told that I had already used my 90 days and they will be willing to possibly grant me an extra week. At this juncture, I asked the customer service representative what are my options because I really do not have any and I did not want to lose my truck. She told me that she can see what she can do for me. At this point, she told me that if I could come up with 1960 dollars, I would satisfy the payment. I then asked her how would I go about doing this. She suggested that I go to another title loan company and see if they would buy the title. Taking the advice from this customer service representative, I found someone that would buy the title from EZ money corporation. After getting the money from the other **** ***** **** company, I proceeded to EZ money loan to honor the agreement made between me and the customer service representative. When entering the office, the receptionist told me that I owed twenty four hundred dollars for the debt. I told the customer service representative at the location that I had an agreement with someone from corporate office that stated that if I could get 1960 dollars, the agreement would be satisfied. I was told then by that customer service representative that no matter what I was told from corporate office, if I went to another title loan company, I would have to pay the full balance. This placed me in a very vulnerable position because the other title loan company was waiting for the title and I had a local customer service representative refusing to honor the agreement made by someone from corporate office. When I called the corporate number, the person I made the agreement with was unavailable at this time. Prior to this, she was openly and readily available. After getting to this loan office, and this local customer service representative starts telling me that the agreement will not be honored, the person in which I made the initial agreement with is no longer available. Had I not been informed to go and find another title loan company, I would not have gone. I would have found an alternative route; however, with this agreement made between the corporate customer service representative and myself, I saw this as a viable option. Had I not cashed that check from the other loan company, I would have had some room to counter this aggressive tactic perpetrated upon me by the local customer service representative. I had no other option but to beg and plead for them to accept 2300 dollars.

Desired Settlement: I desire a refund in the amount of three hundred forty dollars.

EZMONEY does not make loans, extend credit or otherwise act as a lender. We only arrange for loans for consumers using underwriting criteria provided by our lender, NCP Limited Partnership. For the services provided, EZMONEY obtains a credit services organization fee based on the term of the loan. EZMONEY Loan Services is sending this response to the above complaint received from the Better Business Bureau which is dated April 18, 2014.
*** ***** obtained his auto title loan and was originally due on 10/31/2013. *** ******* committed on 12/12/13, to have loan paid off in full by 03/15/14, with making partial payments in December, January, and February, then paying loan off in full when he received his tax return. *** ******* made a partial payment on 02/28/14 of $450.00, and at this time spoke with our Collection Representative ****** **********. A settlement offer of $1.950 was discussed and agreed upon between the both, if customer was paying off with his tax return.
On 03/12/14, *** ******* called actual store and spoke with ***** *******, ***** *******, informing her that he was obtaining a loan from Title Max to assist him in paying his current loan off. ******* reviewed the account and informed customer that she would have to call the Collection Center and speak with ****** **********, customer's collection representative, before she could confirm any arrangements. ******* spoke with *** ********** and informed her of the customer wanting another company to buy-out his loan. *** ********** explained the settlement was agreed upon with *** *******, if he paid off with tax return, not valid for a buy-out from another company.
***** *******, ***** *******, returned call to *** ******* and reiterated the agreement explaining the difference, which he refused, and stated he will call and speak with the collection's department himself. *** ******* then called collection's department on the same day and spoke with Collection Representative, ******* *******. At that time, a settlement offer of $2300.00 was agreed upon between *** ******* and *** ******* to be paid in full on 03/15/14. The account would show a balance of $121.31 after the full $2300.00 was paid, therefore, NCC Rep ****** ********** created the arrangement for $121.31 to be written off due * ********* ***, which was processed on 03/31/14.
*** ******* satisfied his final payment 01 -.2300.00 on 03/12/14, which fulfilled his obligations. At this time EZPAWN and its lender believe the obligation has been fulfilled and will not turn any of the funds as the loan remained past due for several months with minimal payments.=

I am rejecting this response because: When I spoke with ******, I explained to her that my income tax was being withheld and I did not have any other options.  *** ****** suggested that I obtain a title loan from another place.  The reason that I made the call was to inform EZ Money that I my income tax was on hold.  I initially had an agreement between a male ******** ******* **************, ****** (******) and myself.  I accept that the initial understanding was that when I was able to get my income tax, I would relinquish this debt.  I was also told that if I did not get it paid off within the initial 90 days, that I would be able to get extensions until I was able to get the debt paid.  The person in which I made the initial agreement no longer work with EZ Money loans and that is when I was transferred to *** ******.  I explained to her that I did not know when I was going to get my income tax return.  furthermore, I asked her if I had any options, and she suggested that I look into getting another title loan company purchase the debt at 1960.

 

Yes, I did speak with the local ******** ******* **************, and if they were to submit the phone records of that conversation, it would clearly support that I was under the impression that as long as I came in to pay for my title, the 1960 would be honored.  My problem is these changes were not explained to me in full until I came into the office to make the payment to obtain my title.  I called for a clear understanding and acted in good faith.  I in no way wanted to take advantage of this situation.  My back is against the wall and I had no other way to redeem myself.  I asked for help, and I followed the instructions that were given to me.  It was not until I dealt with the local office that everything changed.  Every time I have spoken with someone regarding this matter, I was informed that all calls are recorded and I ask that they submit the calls, especially, the calls made to the local store that morning to shed a brighter light on what was and what was not said. 

I am eternally grateful that this corporation worked with me on my behalf.  I just do not agree with the way I was handled by the local branch.  Instead of honoring the agreement, the local store had a problem with me.  The truth be told, this local ******** ******* ************** had a problem with me since the first day I had come into the store.  The reason that I fell behind was because I had a heart attack in mid October.  Trying to recover from this, I had to come in and make a payment.  It took everything for me to stand and go through the process and this same ******** ******* ************** had no compassion on my condition.  I did not have my cell phone and knowing that I was ill, this same local ******** ******* ************** made me go and get my cell phone out of my vehicle in order to verify that is was my cell number.  This may seem like an easy task.  For someone just coming home two weeks from a hospital after having a heart attack, it was a challenge.  I was not surprised that an issue would have been raised by this local ******** ******* ************** because this type of behavior is typical of how I had been treated by this particular local ******** ******* ************** since I came to this company. 

I am a very sick person and I may not be here to see the end of this matter.  I just want EZ corporation to know that the local ******** ******* ************** (******) has never given me a fair chance. I am disabled and I have even seen her smirk and laugh at me under her breath. I know I am not well, but I want my voice to be heard. You can refuse to honor the agreement that was made because of your local ******** ******* **************, and that is fine. I promise that this will not be the last person that will have a similar problem with that local ******** ******* **************.

In conclusion, the agreement was made with ****** (******) with getting the loan paid with my income tax.  When that did not work, another agreement was made with ****** stating that if I could get a title loan or find someone pay the loan off, I could get it done for 1960.

If you choose not to honor our agreement, I would understand because I did not honor the original agreement made with you all.  I was hurt because I had to get in my wheel chair and go from tittle loan place to title loan place in an attempt to not lose my truck.  When I finally found a title loan place that would work with me, I was excited because I would be able to keep my truck.  All this came to a screeching halt after I had spoke with that local ******** ******* ************** (******).  If you were to view the video of that day as well as listen to the phone conversation, you will see that I have acted in good faith.  I pray that you conduct another review and find in my favor.

Complaint: Have 2 issues.Bought a bicycle on 3/26/14.I went out of town to San Antonio to take my son to *** ***** for his b-day.Upon return from San Antonio,my son and I attempted to ride bicycles around our neighborhood.For starters,the bearings where the fork attaches to the frame are bad.Secondly,either the chain or the sprocket is bent as well as a tooth missing from the sprocket.I obviously didn't read the small print, because it says you only have 1 day to return the item. That's not the reason that I am writing today though.They have the worse service or sales tactics that I have been the recipient of in quite some time.I went to the store on 3/20/14. They had a few firearms that I was interested in buying.I made a cash offer on 2 of the firearms.The sales person went to the back to speak with the *******,***** *********,and at this time, she knocked over both firearms and they hit the ground on top of each other, surely scratching them both. The sales person came back with a counteroffer of $400 cash "out the door", tax included. I thought this was a little pricey. I told the sales person, I would do a little research, and be returning. So, I waited almost a week and returned on 3/26/14, which is when I purchased the above mentioned bicycle. At this time, the ******* remembered me wanting to purchase both firearms for $400.00, but insisted that it was not agreed on "out the door", but tax would be applied on top of the $400.00, which was a lie, and not what agreed upon. At that time, I let them know that both firearms were also dropped, and that should be considered in the final price. The sales person gave me ***** *********'s business card, and said I could call her directly. I called the number, which is the store number. They asked who was speaking, I told them. I was put on hold, lady comes back to phone, says ***** ********* is in a meeting and will call me back, without even asking my name or #. I even told the girl, "you don't have my name or phone #," and she said, "thank you, goodbye"...

Desired Settlement: Would like to purchase both firearms at a lower price of $350-$375, but would really be completely satisfied if this information stayed available for other potential customers to read and prevent others from being ripped off or lied to.

Complaint: I took a payday loan from this company out of desperation for quick cash to fix a short term problem. I was unable to make the payment due to financial difficulties, this company calls constantly. Their calls are repeat, and non stop. I spoke with a representative of theirs on 02/26 at 6:51 PM CST. I spoke with a friendly women who set me up on a payment arrangement to pay off the balance over a few week course. I advised her that they (the company) have been calling me on my work phone and that I am not allowed by my employer to receive any sort of personal phone calls on my work phone, and that I could be terminated for such calls. I advised the agent of my work phone that they call: ************. She apologized for the calls and said she would note the system to have it removed. I since have not made payment on my account due to the fact that I was placed on administrative leave from my place of employment due to repeat personal calls to my work line. For the record they have called this line on 03/13 at 3:29 PM, 03/14 at 4:43 PM, 03/17 at 3:15 PM, & 3/18 (today) at 12:16 PM. These calls to my work line have came a minute exactly after missing their calls on my personal line. They never bother to leave any sort of message.

Desired Settlement: EZ CORP has violated the FDCPA laws on four occasions that I can recently prove, I also have the call recording proving I told them not to contact me at work and that my employer does not accept those calls. FDCPA violations can award me up to $1000/per violation. There are four in a matter of a week. I am now on leave, left to wait to see if i can get my job back. The debt should be cleared from my name and I will let this matter end here.

EZPAWN was merely trying to collect debt on its own behalf and is not subject to the laws and regulations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). However, EZPAWN abides by most of the principles of this law.
I have reviewed the actual phone recording that occurred on February 26, 2013 when the payment arraignment was made. There was no mention in that conversation that *** ***** did not want to be contacted at work. Upon receiving the letter from *** *****, the phone number of the customer's work place has been coded as do not call.
EZPAWN has not violated the FDCPA rules but would still like to work out a payment arraignment with *** ***** as the account is still past due.

I additionally have a copy of the phone recording given to me by my former employer. During the conversation it was made very clearly that I cannot accept phone calls at work. FDCPA does apply because the company calling was a third party company. (Outsourced call center). FDCPA laws apply in this case. 
 
For a compliance officer, you should research more before you respond. I have my basis covered. The law was broke, my job was lost. Fix this.

All of this took place within about 45 minutes from the time i left the store and called them...I purchased the tv from best buy and they sent the technicion out and he told me that someone hit the screen and broke the internal sceen inside the tv... Complaint: I have an account with ezloan that is paid on a biweekly basis. Every week about 3 days prior to payment being due I get a "reminder" call. I am usually at work and cannot answer and a message is left. The following days I may or may not get other reminder calls untill the day the payment is due. I try to go by before work if not after to make the payment. If I do not have a chance to do in the morning I get repeated phone calls, sometimes up to 5 times during the day. Then my wife starts getting multiple calls to her phone while she is at work also. Soon my sister gets calls, all to leave this "reminder" message. I should not be getting any type of calls, especially to my sister ON THE DAY I AM DUE for a payment. I have asked that there not be any calls to me unless I am late and it keep happening.

The second thing was I did in fact speak to one lady at the office and told her "do not call me". she responded that they had to. My response  was that Texas collection laws state that if they were told not to call prior to a payment being do that they need to stop. She said she would notate my account but did not because I got a call 3 days before the next pmt was due. I do have phone records to show this. I  will now request again at this time, DO NOT CALL ME, unless I am past due. I will be paying the full balance soon and will not deal with this company again. Until then, I want the request to be followed.

Complaint: In August 2013 I had my assets frozen and made EZCORP Inc. aware of the issue. 4 days later they hooked the vehicle with a my children still in it. After the kids jumped out repo driver drove off while the neighbors all watched. I called the corporate office to let them once again know about the asset freeze and the repo concerns. They asked for the court documents be sent over and once received they agreed they would store the vehicle until the courts released the asset freeze. In October 2013 they sold the vehicle in auction without notifying me or the court and somehow sold it for the exact amount as my loan balance. A vehicle at even black book auction prices would be at least double what they claimed it was sold for. I was never notified (by phone or mail) that the vehicle would be sold in auction after speaking with Orlando Trevino at the corporate office in August 2013.

Desired Settlement: I'm requesting the verified accounting for the vehicle sold in auction and want them to submit all the contact logs and information (required by law) to me during the process of the repossession and selling of a frozen asset.

They had another *** that was the same model but with 2 ***** games that was priced $20 more. I got home after making the purchase with the protection plan and 4 additional games and found that the 2 games that were supposed to be in the box were missing. I called the store and spoke with ******** and she tried to tell me that they only guarantee that there was supposed to be a *** console and a remote. She also claimed that each *** was priced the same. I asked her then why the *** for $59 with the ***** games could be priced as such if there were not supposed to be bundles that came with games and she would not give me an answer. ******** kept saying that she would not argue with me on the phone but I was simply asking for clarifying answers to my questions. From afar it looked shiny and i really didn't inspect it with a loop or anything. I asked the manager ***** if he could do a better price since I'm a regular customer and one the employees said that piece was there for over a year. It wouldn't sell. He said i could have it for $950. I thought that was too much for that piece so i called a supervisor ******** and she said i could have it for $850. I said that was ok but i still thought it was too much for that piece. So on a previous BBB complain#******* *** another manager had promised me a Very god price on one of the store pieces and a bigger loan on a marquise diamond i had. I never went to the store because i wasn't ready to sell my ring and i didn't like any of the pieces. I asked the employees where *** was and they said he no longer worked for the company, when in a fact he was transferred to another location in texas. I was misinformed so i called **** ***** regional manager 5 times and left a voicemail. So far no response. Called EZCORP in Austin no response or returned calls. ******** was gave customer service and was kind, when i spoke to ******** ******* her supervisor she was EXTREMELY rude threading me with lawyers. I just couldn't believe it attorneys for what? I have no idea what asking for a lower price has to do with lawsuits. I finally went and purchased the item for $850 with ***** for a goal of $920.13. I had also informed him that the marquise solitaire i had pawned on 11/09/2013 was not a carat it was 1.35 and showed him the GSL. He said it it doesn't matter its the same you have the max loan. I told him *** was going to buy it for a better price. He just said well *** is no longer here is he. I paid left to pick up a ring from my jeweler and shoed him what i bought. He immediately said how are you going to wear it if its missing the piece on top where the chain goes through. He also said it was missing a diamond baguette, and that most of them were chipped. And that the sizes of each baguette were different so there was no way EZCorp could have estimated the carat weight. Where the diamond was missing was glue residue. On my receipt it said there were 82 4pt diamonds in 10k yellow gold at 11.6grams. He said that it was probably scrap from the look of it and thats why it would never sell. He estimated that piece to sell for 500 because it was 10k 11.4G and the price of gold went down on that day. I had him put a clasp and the missing baguette for $150. He gave it a good cleaning with steam and my mom was able to wear it. He used glue as well since all of them are set the same way. The business that this is is ***** ******** *** ** ******** ****** ** *****. My marquise ticket receipt is ******. The receipt transaction for the purchase is ************ and what looks to be like the item number ************. I have before and after pictures of the item that i took with my phone. There are so many mistakes going on at this store and to be treated like that by ******** is just wrong. And ******** called me from the ********* location and she said she had personally inspected the item and said it was a very good deal. Why she failed to tell me it was missing a diamond, the upper part that holds the chain was missing and the baguettes were chipped is beyond me. After all she priced it and inspected it.They are thieves and during the holidays even worse. FYI i did not return the item because my mother had already seen it and wanted it repaired for her birthday. Her birthday was on 11/20 and she is a HUGE!!!!!!!!!customer of EZCorp since i can remember. If you need her drivers license when i get a response please do run it through the system and you will be shocked of just how many transactions though out the years she has conducted. This is my 2nd EZ Corp experience not worth going to small claims at all. Seems like a corporation this big needs the money by taking advantage of people .

I sent them that money through another money pak but I still did not receive my loan money. ******** had said it will be in there Saturday and no money. He called me back and said a member of the US bank was going to call me but I had to tell him the money is from a friend so taxes will not be charged. but I was lied to. ******** had called me back and said they need $521 to release the money that the bank has on hold. Monday 12/16/2013 I had made a call to this bank and they do not have any money what so ever from this company. I did not pay $521 again because I had lost $600 so far. I called them and said I want my money back they said if I cancelled I have to pay $200 to get my money back. there is no written contract so there should not be any fees to cancel. I did not sign anything for this company.

I gave this number to Mr. ***** and he explained that I would be contacted by ** Bank with the ACH number of ************** to verify that I am *******, etc. He also shared that I was to say that this transaction was from a friend and not a business deal. As I was on the phone a "rep" from ** Bank called and asked for my "friend's" information, so I gave him the number of ###-###-####. The ** Banks "rep" came back on the phone and yelled and screamed saying I was a liar. Anyways, I was then expected to pay 299.00 in "bank fees". I purchased a Green F|Dot prepaid Visa card. When I called him to give me this information, Mr. ***** became upset saying I purchased the wrong card. At that point I knew I was in trouble. The "company" continues to call me and harass me including at work. They now say I cannot be refunded the 250.00 from the original deposit

Complaint: On 5/15/13 I went to *********** website and applied for $500.00 with the understanding that the $500.00 plus a loan fee would be deducted 5/24/13. On 5/23/13 I tried to reschedule the loan and had problems with the website, continued to loop and not able to enter of alter anything. I became frustrated and decided to let the deduction go thru on 5/24. Ezmoney deducted $144.82 on 5/24 and today has continued to deduct $144.82 making today the 10th deduction of $144.82 ($1,448.20). I called the contact # **************, feeling this was an error and she advised me that this is their 10 week process and another pymt of $134.24 will be taken out. Making it 11 bi-weekly payments and it was a option I chose. I clearly didn't choose this option and feel it's unlawful to charge 3 times what a loan is (loan for $500 and being charged $1,582.44).

Desired Settlement: These auto-deductions have put me at a real hardship and I would like a refund. I agree that I requested the $500 loan and fee interest should be 22% not over 200%.

I am rejecting this response because: After the first automatic payment of $144.82 I was surprised since the website show the $600.00 amount for the $500.00 loan, would be taken out the Friday after I got the loan, again $144.82 was taken out. I was short of the full repayment amount and due to the continued deductions I ended up paying late charges on everything I paid for and had phone and internet turned off. The website is deceiving and clearly showed a $600.00 repayment for the following Friday. Just because I didn't respond right away doesn't mean I agree. I've had to do everything I could to try and come back from the financial damage EZ Money caused and still working on it with.

So, I went to have it appraised and get it insured when I had it checked out for its value I was told its only a 3/4 carat diamond if that and no where near worth what I paid so I took it back there to them to either get another ring one I was told I was getting or my money but I preferred a ring honestly. But, they wouldn't even attempt to take it back said without the receipt they couldn't do anything about it I said I have proof I bought it with a debit card that isn't good enough for them. I just want what I was promised I was getting I did pay for it.

To me this has now moved beyond annoyance and into harassment. According to the Government all I have to do is tell you to stop calling me once and y'all have to stop. Right now I am looking at ten plus times I have asked to have my number removed. Yet it still has not been. I need my number removed immediately. FCC, BBB, & the Texas Do Not Call list as I have asked to be removed multiple times and my number has not been.

Complaint: I purchased a KindleFire HD 8.9 through ****** & EZCORP was the 3rd party that I was actually purchasing from. I bought this as a gift for my husband. I had thought that the item was registered as it showed up as registered in my ****** Account. Recently I joined ****** Prime and went to use the Kindle to read a book. It's then that I found the problem with trying to register the product with ******. After numerious phone calls and emails through both EZCORP and ****** it turns out this product is flagged/listed as stolen in transit to original customer. I asked EZCORP if they don't check some registery to make sure traded or pawned items weren't stollen. They said no. ****** claims they could have easily checked with them to ensure the item isn't stollen previous to accepting trade/ ***** I was unaware that EZCORP was a ***** shop until I started researching them. Their response was basically tough luck. I paid a premium $250 for this used in Dec. 2012 so this was not a red flag that this item could be a hot item. I had figured that there was a safty by buying through ****** there was an assurance that this wasn't a hot item. EZCORP says this is being brought to their attention outside there return policy window. ****** has a strickt policy that a stolen'flagged'missing product will not be able to be registered therefor we are not able to use many apps that reguire the kindle to be registered. I believe the company intentionally didn't research item to there fullest abillity to assure they were not buying a comon item that is stollen and resold it.

Desired Settlement: I would ask that they return the funds used to purchase this item. I originally thought that a replacement would be possible but after the compllaints and nature of the issue I'm afraid I will get a product of lesser quality or another hot item. I would rather not deal with this company again if possible.

The item was purchased on December 12, 2012 and we did not receive a complaint from the customer until 8/9/13. We determined that Ms. ******* did not notify us within 30 days of purchase of the problem. Our policy states that we will accept returns up to a month past the delivery date of the order in accordance of ******'s policies. Because we are required to follow ******'s online regulations and the time lapse, we are unable to approve the return of the order.
EZ has strict policies to thoroughly test and clean every item that comes into our warehouse. We report all items to local and state law enforcement agencies and place them on hold for a month before we resell them. Unfortunately in this case, some people only report items as lost to the manufacturer and not law enforcement which caused this problem.
Again EZ feels that we followed all protocol with regard to the item and will not provide a replacement or refund.

Complaint: I purchased a Satellite phone (******** ******* *******) from EZCorp through ********** on April 1st, 2013 (****** Order # *******************). THe phandset was advertised as a usable handset in "very good shape". It indicated nothing about restrictions to be used or activated. In July I started my overseas trip and tried to activate the satellite phone for the first time (the service is very expensive, so I only tried to activate it when leaving to South America, the place where i am right now. At that point the service provider (the distributor firs, and then the manufacturer (********) told me that the phone was blocked and deemed unusable, so I could not receive the service due to a restricted phone. As I am travelling in reponte places and will be for the next several months, I really can't replace the handset, so I contacted EZ Corp on 7/23 and then again another 10 times, asking them for help unlocking the phone. I received no answer fron them other than offering me a 20% discount on the delivered product. I am stuck now in the middle of South America, travelling with 2 toddlers and no way to communicate with anybody in case of an emergency, due to faulty product received from EZCorp and their lack of cooperation to help solve the problem. I also paid for a USD 650 service I can't use because of their faulty product.

Desired Settlement: I want them to entirely refund the money i paid for the faulty phone plus the money I spent on a service plan I can't use, plus the money to maintain my Argentine Cell phone for the period that I haven't been able to activate the satellite phone service: Purchase: USD 306.03 ******** Unusable service: USD 650.00 Extra cell phone expenses: USD 354,20 TOTAL REFUND/COMPENSATION: USD 1,310.23

Complaint: I purchased a *** *** Plus (******** game) and balance board through ******. When I received only the balance board without the game, I wrote the seller and requested they ship the game. They shipped a *** *** Game (the incorrect version without the additional workouts and games, different from what was listed in the product description). When I again requested that they send what was advertised and offered to return the older version of the game they said they couldn't find any and that I should keep the inferior product. I contacted them again telling them that I don't wish to keep the inferior product and don't appreciate the bait and switch tactic. They have since requested that I return the board and game for a full refund. I will do that if I have to, but I'd rather get what I originally purchased.

Desired Settlement: My top desired outcome is that I receive the products that I originally ordered. If they don't have any left, they can order one from somewhere else and send it to me to fulfill the terms of the purchase. If that's not an option, I want a mark against them for false advertising so that other customers are aware of the misleading business practices EZCORP thinks is acceptable.

Complaint: On July 23rd 2013 i found an ad stating a description for a cross pendant 10k yellow gold with a weight of 25.7 gram for $400. I called the store at 4:55pm that same day to see if it was available. The employee advised me after looking and said he couldnt find it asking if i had an item# and i did. The item number is ************, and she advised me it was sold. On thursday i went on ********* again and and found the same ad with the same date and everything but the price was modified to$1680. I called the store asked for a manager and explained the situation and that they had lied to me. I asked for the corporate number and they urged me not to call instead to call *** ****** who was manager higer up the local corporate ladder and they gave me his mobile phone. I called *** at ************and we discussed the whole situation. He called me back and said there was an error in pricing that it was in fact not $400 nor $1680 but $899. He said he would sell it to me at $600 even with no tax. I told him no i wanted the $400 with tax and that i was going to call corporate because they were just making false advertising posts on *********s for free. I called corporate and explained everything. They said upper management would call me within 24 hours. Today jyly 26, 2013 at 9:44am ******** ******* called me and apologized for the mistakes but she had to agree with ***'s offer trying to make a sale. She said oh the cross is very beautiful your gonna love and so forth. Literally trying to make a sale! I asked her so im paying the original price of $400 plus tax? She said no i have to agree with *** on this one and its $600 tax free. I told her again im calling corporate again The address for this local store is **** * ******** ** **** ******* ** ***** *************. Again i called corporate after talking to ******** at 10:02am and left a voicemail waiting for a resolution. I have copies of the ads whee they show the 3 distinct prices as well as my call records thats why im so precise with dates and times.

Desired Settlement: I want to be able to buy the item just as it was advertised for $400. They cant claim they sold it because ******** is holding it for me til we come to a resolution. Thats all i ask. Honor the original price. False advertising.

This is a fishing expedition on behalf of EZCORP in hopes to lure me into losing the original paperwork so they can re-collect on a settles debt.

Complaint: I took out a payday loan at said business a couple of years ago. I paid on the loan, renewed it a couple of times. I didn't take out the loan and not made payments, like they allege. My mother got very sick and couldn't work, so it was up to me to take care of her, to take care of both of us. I stopped paying the loan, didn't have extra money to pay it. I informed them about what had happened and why I couldn't continue to pay it. Their legal team have been harassing the people I put down as contacts/references. They are threatening these people that have nothing to do with that loan, they didn't sign/co-sign for me. They have been harassing/threatening my dad and I want it to stop. My dad has nothing to do with that loan. They are threatening him to pay it or they will come after him, saying it's his responsibility as my dad. Hello!! i am an adult not a child!! they are threatening me and I want it to stop. I understand it's my obligation, but when you have to work to take care of yourself and your sick parent, it doesn't even compare. When situations arise that one has no control over, what is one to do. This people have no heart, no compassion and it is very sad. They are making my dad sick with worry because of what they are threatening. It is affecting my life, my school, my health. I want it to stop!! They don't listen, just threaten, that's why I am writing this complaint. Thank you for listening.

Complaint: I purchased an **** from the business on April 14, 2013. I was assured the product was in full working condition. Upon completion of the purchase the employee made no mention of a 24 hour return policy. I took the item home and wrapped it as a gift for my girlfriends daughter. When she opened the product the following night she noticed that headphones would only work on one side, and the issue could be repeated on multiple sets of headphones. The store closed that night at 8PM and I could not return it that evening.The following morning I took the item into the store seeking to exchange it for a functional replacement, but I was told by everyone in the store, including management, that there was nothing they could do for me and refused to exchange or refund the item despite it being damaged/non-functional at time of purchase. The woman working at the register was very rude and acted as if I had broke the item myself and snapped at me I should have bought a warranty, to which I responded, "Why would I need a warranty for and item that was already broken?". I contacted the store supervisor and he has made no efforts to contact me.I contacted my credit card company that I had made the purchase through, and they assured me there would be no issue refunding my charge once it had posted to my account. Upon hearing this, I returned to the store notifying them that if they could not exchange the defunct product I would have to cancel the charge through my card company and report them to the BBB. I left the item that I had purchased in the possession of the store and, as soon as the charge post, will be contacting the credit card company.

Complaint: The long and short of it is I dropped my MacBook Pro off at EZ pawn located in Conroe, tx When I dropped it off it was functioning and working as normal. I dropped it off in late April. I fulfilled the loan terms on July 8th. On July 10th I finally had a chance to use my computer. I tried to turn it on and absolutely nothing happened. Fearful, I took my computer to the Apple store in The Woodlands, TX. After the employee took it to the back and examined it he returned to tell me there was a "sticky liquid" that had rendered the computer inoperable. Repairs would start at $1200. Not totaling $1200 but would start at $1200. Needless to say, the computer was working when I brought it in and useless when I returned to pick it up. This isn't the first time I've used their service to get a loan for my computer. I've used them on many occasions. This being the first time I've had any problem. Usually, when I pick the computer up they have blue plastic wrap wrapped around the entire bag. I leave my leather laptop bag for extra protection. As I said they usually have the entire bag wrapped in blue plastic wrap. When I picked it up this last time there was no blue plastic wrap around the bag and I noticed that items in the bag were not where I left them like the power adapter was not in the same spot where I had left it. I believe that someone at the EZ pawn location damaged the computer by using it while It was in their possession and knowingly gave the non working computer back to me. What is my legal recourse and what is my next step.

Desired Settlement: I would like EZ pawn to pay for the repairs needed to fix my computer which starts around $1200. Or replace it.

Complaint: I received a loan from this company but due to a President Declared Disaster IKE was unable to fulfill my obligation. I wrote to the Corporate Office to establish a payment plan. I am waiting a response from then to see if they accept my payment offer.On December 24th. the company ACH my account first for $379.34 then $679.24 and then $225.50 all on the same day. My bank paid the first ACH and returned the other 2 but charged me over $400.00 in fees. I call the company and spoke to a clerk and ask if they could stop ACHing my account because I am in process of making payment arrangements and was told that they are not going to stop until they get there money in full. This is not good practice on any business behalf and would like you to investigate this dis-service.Thank you

Complaint: i have been drowned with threatning phone calls from this busines telling me i will be charged with defrauding a financial institution and not repaying the loan yes i took out the loan and at the time we had my uncle with us and he took some checks and wrote them and the bank closed the account to save us from anymore short checks then this business starts calling threatning me with prosecution and leaving numerous messasges threatning me with defrauding a financial institution for writing a check and then closing the account and not repaying the loan i made arrangement to repay but they refused the amount if offered to repay they wanted more money per month i offered it again i offered to pay 75.00 per month as that is all i could afford they wanted 150.00 per month i told them i could pay 75.00 they refused and said well we will continue the process of taking you to court this is a felony charge and we can put a lean on your house or anything you own this is very threatning to me and i dont like being talked down too i understand i didnt repay the loan but we were is a very dire situation and needed the money to pay bills intended on repaying it but when they refused my offer i just said ok do what ya gotta do i offered you turned it down the call was recorded so i gues we will see Product_Or_Service: payday loan

Complaint: Unfortunately I had to resort to taking a loan of money in an entity called ** ***** **** ********, located at the address **** **** ** ******** ** ********** and the telephone ***** ********. I gave the sum of $ 700.00 in cash and made me sign many different forms of which only gave me some copies, also made me sign an electronic system, credit card type, where I had to do it about 3 times, then made operation, give me proof and not rush the review in its entirety, as I say they are copies of what I sign. When it comes my first payment date, review the records and I find the unpleasant surprise they charged a rate of 583.55%, a total scam! With such interest rate, it was logical that it should pay back the loan as soon as possible, otherwise, I would collect many times the amount borrowed. But not all end there, I could pay the initial fees and advance something to lower the principal balance of funding, but getting the date March *,2009, I can not pay the fee because it had no money and was working far their offices, paying two payments together I thought this Friday March **, but I find the unpleasant surprise me that people discount the whole balance of the loan from my bank account just $ 428.34, resulting in a negative balance of $ 397.00. When calling to complain about the large discount, I did say that the inability to communicate with me and then if that was not me just say that I get another loan to cover the overdraft from the bank, they think people are that stupid ?. vigorously denounce this outrage and call the consumer to the appropriate authorities to take in the matter so as not to harm more people, who need a momentary drop in the networks of these scams.Es collect that rate of legal interest in a consuming countries like this?. Complaint: When we put our stuff into the pawn shop they informed me that they would send a text message reminder to let me know when my payment was due. They never did that. I called once and spoke to someone there asking her when my payment was due. She gave me a date and when I went there my stuff was already sold. I asked her why didn't they send me a text alert like they said they would she didn't have an answer. They sold my wedding ring which had sentimental value to it, they had my wife ring and all the other stuff already on the floor they said for over a week, but then why did the person I spoke to who properly never checked or didn't understand, tell me that. I would have come that day to get our stuff. So she just kept telling me that they guy who brought it really didn't want it and they will bring it back, but they haven't brought it back and now we have to buy back our stuff because they lied and never did what they were supposed to do. Business Response: Mr. ****** did not originally opt in to receive text messages for loan reminders as noted on the attached screen. Thus, the pawn reminders we sent via the mail. Additionally, Mr. ****** did receive the pawn ticket that  indicated when the loan due date of February **, 2013 with a 30 day grace period of March **, 2013. When the items were not paid for on time, the items were placed back or dropped into our inventory on March **, 2013. When Mr. ****** returned to the store, one ring had been sold. However, the two other items were at the store and he put the items in layaway to redeem upon payment. Currently, Mr. ****** owes $222.92 on the outstanding loan.

Complaint: I had a few gold rings in pawn for several months. I have been paying weekly to keep it up, however, over the Christmas week end I forgot. The due date was December ****. I went in today to get my rings out of pawn and they overcharges me by $77 for an additional charge. First of all they said I was nine days late and had to pay a $150 charge. My rings had a loan of $250 with a monthly charge of $62.50 to keep them up to date. I was paying $29.16 weekly way above the monthly charge. When I went to pay to get my rings out not even 7 days late they charged me $250+62.50+77.08+2.00=$391.58. They stated that the rings were in default. Seven days late? The rings were in the vault and not in default like the worker insisted. I should be paid back the $77.08 which was an over charge. I was never told of this overcharge when taking my rings out of pawn. This is a scam. Please help!

Desired Settlement: I am seeking the $77.08 over charge.

Complaint: Due to Hurrican IKE, I had to evacuate my family from ******* to ******. This was an expense that caused myself to take out a pay day loan. The due date was friday 09-**-2008, but due to power outage all over ******* I was unable to pay because they did not have services running. On Tuesday 09-**-2008 they took the full balance from my checking account causeing it to go negative. Due to this national disaster this only compounds the hardships that my family will have to face. The fact that basic services and food is scarce in this area I would think an extention would be in order due to this crisis. I understand that this is a debt that I initiated and am willing to pay, but when you just take all the money I have to feed my family it makes a crisis even worse. Desired Settlement: The outcome I would like due to the hardship is they waive the interest or a portion of the interest due. I would like an offical apology from the company explaining why they took this action and why they never contacted me before taking the money. With banks closed and no access to money to pay how are people suppose to get cash and pay.

Complaint: The business is a payday loan service. I got a loan from them totaling roughly $871.00. I spoke with them and told them that the money was not available and I would pay them a little at a time until i could pay them off. So when you get the loan you give them a check to hold in the amount of the loan and if you do not pay it they may try to cash the check. So instead of them trying to cash the check for the amount written they sent three seperate payments through my account totaling the amount of the loan and all of the charges were denied. My complaint is that since they sent throught three seperate charges my bank charges me three times for nsf which totaled $100.00. I dod not think this is right because I only gave them one check not three so they should run the amount in full not in seperate amounts. SETTLEMENT: Replacement SETTLEMENT EXPLANATION: I would like them at the very least to refund me the money that the bank charged me and also I am not sure how this will affect other charges I had coming through my account. So if the other charges are denied I would also want them to pay for any other fees and for any other problems this may cause.
