Additional Notes

Complaint: hired timesaverservices in may 2012 for remodeling project, said he was going to pull a permit with the city n never did.did not find out until the ptoject was almost complete.I had a very hard n difficult time thru the 7 months that they were here as to not answering my calls n not returning my messages.when they finally finished n I paid the last draw on the balnce i never went up in the attic until after the fact. The trusts are not braced, they used different color shingles on the roof which I noticed a week later. Two weeks later the tile started cracking in addition and grout coming off. When I read the warranty it is shabby because they actually are not responsible for anything. He has decals on truck that he is a member of the better business bureau which is not true.Said he was pulling a permit and said he did but when I saw the shabby work I called the city n was told that no permit was ever pulled. My wife and I went thru a nightmare with this company.I want him to correct all the things that were not done properly. The steps on back porch are seperating from porch,no rebar was used to tie into porch.

Desired Settlement: i want him to come n correct all the faulty work that was done n rewrite the warranty to protect the consumer.

Business Response:

To Whom it may concern

This Is in response to Complaint By

during the project, *** ***** was very Particular with everything that was
being done. *** ***** did go up on the roof with me ( he had accused me of not
using a Flashing on the roof,). We went up there to show him we had installed
it. He had nothing to say about he color of the shingle, he even said he was
going to replace the rest of his roof shingles. so we even left our shingles
ready to connect with new ones. We had removed a piece of his old shingle that
we used to match. Roof Joist are Supported, and Ceiling Joists are braced
between each other. joist span is only 10' with 2x6s . that is why we did not
brace joist. *** ***** was very contemptuous with his request, He would say "
You WIll, Do Not, and I Want", When we never objected to any of his
requests or concerns, we where always very respectful to him. The sheet rock on
the ceiling was off for alomost 4 weeks where he could see up in the attic. and
he wanted extra bracing which we did for his own peace of mind. *** ***** has
an idea in his head as to how things should be done even though our ways are
not wrong. The tile was set almost 6 weeks before we left, *** ***** would
Break the tiles he did not like. We tried to please him by changing out all
tiles he broke and marked, over and over , without any objection. he would put
blue tape on all the items he wanted changed or "fixed". which we
also did to please him. Most of the items where his own preference of how he wante
it to be. we have texts from ******** and our response from project and from
**** ***** apologizing for *** ****** disposition. We did Alot of extras things
for *** ***** at no charge, even at the end we trouble shot an electrical
problem for him. *** ***** would have a puch list and when we finished it he
would have another one. at our last walk through, *** ***** said that there was
only a few little items that was no big deal and when when did those he would
gladly pay the 37% remaining balance.

*******

said he was going to check
everything, he even went under home to check for leaks under tub. *** *****
paid us without hesitation. Below is the warranty *** ***** was given. If
anything happens with the trusts due to workmanship, it will be covered. We do
not cover any cosmetic items due to the fact that those items are inspected
before last payment , that is what the punchlist is for.

We do strive to please all of our customers thus the reason we addressed all
*** ****** requests and concerns without objections. We had misplaced a vent
fan Cover, and we ordered him a new one and delivered it a week after he had
paid us, and he was happy with no complaints. when he paid us he had checked
everything and had no complaints. His Framing is sound, and if anything happens
due to workmanship, it is covered.

We can go and check on the step outside even though the smaller step is favor,
we will check it out. as for the "trusts" i dont know what he is
refering to. a truss is a prefab rafter/ ceiling joist. we did not use trusses,
but as stated, rafters are supported, and ceiling joist need no bracing due to
short distance.

I look forward to working out a solution that will benefit both of us.

please see warranty below.

Complaint: *******

I am rejecting this response because:the ceiling was off as stated and when I ask if there was braces going up ****** said  that they were not done and it would be braced at a later time which is why I never went up in the attic to check when he said they were done because I took his word for it.That is when I called the city to see if he had pulled a permit as he said he did on all his jobs and was told that he never pulled a permit. From there on  I started noticing multiple flaws in workmanship and when  I started to complain he stopped taking my calls not returning my messages. My wife told ****** that I just wanted it done right and that he should return my calls but he started acting childish and  I told him he needed to talk to me since   I was the one paying him.The only reason I started breaking tiles was because they were trying to re-use old tiles with thinset already on them, and since my wife and I were at work  I wanted to make sure they would not get used again and there was no telling once they are on.I have all the texts that transpired between ****** and I and if you want pictures  I have no problem supplying pictures.I asked if he had tied steps to porch with rebar and he stated yes, well not even two days later they started pulling apart and there is no rebar in between. The grout is coming loose in a lot of different areas. There is an exhaust fan he was installing and all he did was put two nails half way with wires exosed n not even connected. The roofer that installed the rest of the roofing shingles is the one that told me that they had used different color shingles and when he installed the ridge vents he notice that the rafters were not braced and they would start coming apart. This is coming from a carpenter who the poor workmanship. Why did he not pull a permit? We can go back and forth but all I can say is that pictures dont lie and all I want is for the wrongs to get corrected which is replace the wrong color shingles, brace the all that needs bracing, replace broken tiles and regrout, redo steps. If need pictures let me know and  I will be happy to supply all pictures needed.A tile installer said that the grout was not mixed right and that is why it was brittle and coming loose.Bottom line, I would like for ****** to repair everything that was stated so that we can move forward with peace of mind for parties involved. If it does not get resolved  i will take it further to where it will be erepairable was the compaint goes to to court. It would be for his best interest.

Business Response:

There is nothing wrong with reusing tiles as much as *** ***** wants to think so. Tiles are reused all the time when then need to be reset and they are not sold anymore,as long as they are cleaned. as for the rafters, anybody can say anything about someone elses work to make themselves look good.
We never installed any exhaust fan. He also complained about the light fixture box in his bathroom which we never removed, but we secured the light fixture anyway, we worked around all fans and lights and lightswitches. whoever installed  fixtures  originally are the ones that did such bad installations.

The problem with construction is that there is no one way get it done, and every contractor has their way and Ideas.
If you where to ask any contractor to look at a project after it is complete almost everyone would improve or change something.

as stated , tile was installed for a long time before we left and none where broke.

We do aim to please the customer, and have not had any complaints before *** ******

I am willing to do is the following :
Install cross tie braces on rafters ,
Change out up to five (5) cracked tiles. ( Not man broken tiles)
Check steps that are pulling away.

Complaint: *******

I am rejecting this response because:Let me start by saying that there is only one way to do things, the right way or the wrong way. There is no such thing as my way,you don't install brake shoes/pads on a car your way there is only one way.I agree with ****** coming over and doing/fixing what was mentioned plus re-do the grout on all the areas where it is coming off(to brittle/not hard). Also found no tape on joint where wall meets ceiling in multiple areas, want it taped plus textured.I have one question that still has not been answered,Is he really registered with BBB or is it false advertisement?,plus why did he not pull a permit? This shows you the kind of character he is n cannot be trusted cause once you lie everything goes down the drain.Could u please tell me where to sent the pictures that I took so that I can proof my point n show you that what I said is true.If he is not registered with BBB he should remove that big sign from his truck. This the worst nightmare we have been thru with a contractor. Please let me know where to sent pictures n I want this resolved as soon as possible..Thank you very much for taking my complaint into consideration n once u see the pictures u will know that everything I stated is true..once again thanks n please let me know if I can send pictures via text messaging....

Complaint: *******

I am rejecting this response because:M** *****,we can go back and forth and never get ahead,I did tapped on tiles to show him which ones were hollow underneath n were replaced. There is some more that I found but my complaint is not about that but about the grout coming loose.I have not touch anything in any way shape or form since we close the deal,it has been coming off on it's own  when we sweep the floor. The only reason that I was showing him how the grout was not cured was because my wife n I were already fraustrated from to many re-dos n almost 3 months overdo on project.Pictures don't lie and I wiil welcome an inspector in my house anytime so he can see that I am telling the truth.Grout should not come off by simply scratching with your finger nail, that is how brittle it is,but I repeat that I have not touched anything at all.I have pictures of the attic (roof joists) the attic exhaust fan vent, floor grout and where there is lack of insulation(bare sheetrock). Also no tape at joints.Where the steps came apart from porch...Remember ****** that pictures don't lie n I have them to proof it.If I would take my fingernail to the grout it would come off but I am not, only until I have a witness here to show them how brittle it really is.The best thing would be for you to come n do it right n finish it so we can go on with our life. Thanks *********
