Project manager ***** K was on time for our appointment. He was proficient in getting an elevation floor plan map and visual inspection of the exterior footings slab and brick. His opinion was that while there was some movement, the pier and beem footings were sound with minimal movement. He recommended that there was no need to underpin the foundation--an assessment that matching a foundation engineering assesment two years earlier. There is some "heaving" of the slab (a crack, and spot issues with sheet rock and door openings), but that is a hydrostatic issue better addressed with hardscaping and possibly foundation watering to bring the interior of the foundation back to equilibrium--rather than installing piers. We talked about options for pilings, pushed steel or torqued helical. If needed for our property, either would suffice but more typically the pushed pier is used on residential properties. We're pleased with the outcome (on to some needed landscaping) but would recommend Ram **** for an honest assesment of your foundations needs.
