On 9/2/23, I took my car to ****** Automotive Specialists (***) in ******* for a scheduled oil change. ***** the Service Advisor said my car was done but he had bad news; I had an issue with my transmission. He said that he wasn't going to charge me for the oil change because the service tech should have taken the car for a test drive prior to the oil change. Both the service tech and ***** took my car for a test drive after the oil change & that was when they discovered the transmission problem. I was surprised by this since I had no issues driving the car. I thought perhaps they discovered an early sign of a transmission problem. ***** said that I should not take any long trips with the car. I assured him I only drove locally. I drove 1 mile to my house but when going up a hill approx 1/4 mile from my house, my car started losing traction & numerous warning lights showed on the dash. I couldn't pull over because the road had a curb & no shoulder. I made it to my driveway. Due to the holiday weekend, I could not have the car evaluated until 9/5/23 after having it towed to another auto shop. This second auto shop identified the following:"when oil change was performed the *** was drained of its fluid and not the engine oil (which is currently overfilled). Due to the *** running extremely low on fluid, metal shavings have made its way throughout the *** cooling lines/system resulting in metal contamination in cooling lines and radiator." I called *** & spoke with **** ***** **** would not talk to the other shop about the damages. ***** called me on 9/6/23 & also refused to talk to the other shop. I called the *** Corporate & spoke with ***************************. He said he would get this resolved. He called back & said the tech had been fired & I would hear from the national office (*******************/Dytech). I called ****************** 9/18/23 **** said there was nothing *** locally could do as they sold the business in July. Still waiting for resolution. EMC Ins called 9/15.
