I reserved a property through VRBO in *******, **. It looked like a quaint area in the canyon. They said that it had a stove or cooking plate, wifi, heating and air.When we arrived, there was no heat, just a small space heating we had to move around to keep warm at night. I left the owner a message asking about the heat. No response.No place to put trash.Food spoiled as the breaker kept tripping their fridge. Lost over $100 of food.Also, there was no cooking plate, so I sent a message to the owner as I had a bought food to cook at the property to save money. No response from the owner.They provided an incorrect password also. I was supposed to be on call working all week and couldn't work from there every as they never responded with correct password.The owner did not respond to my initial text, phone call or messages through the VRBO app.I then escalated it to VRBO immediately within 24 hours of the start of our stay. Initially they said that they would get it resolved if the owner didn't respond. The owner didn't respond for 5 during ever and VRBO put me off every day as I followed up with them every day.Here is a link. DO NOT EVER USE THIS OWNER! AIRSTREAMS ******* on VRBO. VRBO charged my account the full amount for a reservation that was immediately canceled and approved by the host/property manager with no monetary penalty. VRBO continually blamed the host for this even though the host clearly stated I should not be charged and it was in writing. It took a combination of myself and the host contacting VRBO for a refund to finally be issued. I was on the phone multiple times and spent over 2 hours speaking to different individuals to get this resolved. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH VRBO, border line a scam.Review from Katrina M

Terrible experiencing! The place in ******,******* hosted by *******************************. Had not been cleaned before arriving. We notified Hos, which he agreed to refund me full amount and apologize for the inconvenience. Well, unfortunately, the host and vrbo stiffed me. They kept me on hold for nearly an hour each time I called the hotline. They turned of my ability to tect in the chat in vrbo. even with proof that the host agreed to refund me. They refused to honor the refund and just kept tagging me alone. Very disappointed in them. Will never do business with them again. Adn I am out of $1000.Review from Radmila R

I booked with VRBO for a weekend trip. The landlord was mot being responsive. We had no way to get into the rental property at all and no one was responding to calls or emails. I was in front of the property with three kids at 11pm at night for half hour trying to reach someone. I called Vrbo directly, a rep tried contacting the landlord and left him a message. She created a case for me and said someone will reach out. Long story short we had to get a hotel only for someone to reach out to us on Monday( two days later) to let us know that we would not get a refund! They claim an email was sent out with instructions. NO EMAIL from them! They are a scam! I even made an account to make sure I have not missed any communication and of course nothing in my inbox. They now refuse to answer any of my emails with updates. Piece of s*** company scamming people out of their money. Do yourself a favor and get a hotel!Review from Anna R.

I'm a host. The tenants booked a one-month stay at my property via VRBO and paid VRBO in full on 03/04/2024. They arrived on March 25, 2024, & were very happy with the accommodation, but I did not receive any payout. When I called, VRBO stated that my payout was scheduled for April 3, 2024. I was surprised but patient. After not receiving any funds from VRBO on that day, I called their customer services. The gentlemen told me the funds were paid to me, but banks can take 5-7 days to process. He also showed me where to see that on the ************ was stated "paid on 4/3/2024". The next day (April 4, 2024), the VRBO site stated that the funds were paid to me on 4/05/2024!? Today is April 9, 2024, I did not receive any payout from VRBO & the site info changed to "paid on 04/09/2024!? They keep pushing it forward while the tenants stay in my unit for two weeks while VRBO is holding my money. They lie & change their story every day. This is unheard of. I do not recommend that anybody do business with VRBO! From my experience, they have turned into scams lately.Review from Katarina Z

I booked with VRBO on my military PTO visiting my uncle. Every landlord was being unresponsive that we rented through. We had no way to get into the rental property at all and no one was responding to texts, calls or emails. I began to freak out and was so worried wondering where we were going to sleep that night. Once we finally got ahold of VRBO they put us in a 5-star hotel that we couldn't afford on our own. We were told we have 2 nights guaranteed, which we did get but VRBO told us they would cover us for our entire trip if we couldn't find anything, which we could not. We contacted VRBO and they said continue to stay in that hotel for your entire stay and we will reimburse you the full amount. I have physical proof of their confirmations. They never honored the confirmation or promise to reimburse us. I am now out of pocket $1980.00!!!Review from DeLani B

Hosts misrepresent the property, then when you try to cancel, the website just gives you an error message. **************** chats were nice enough, but after two times and never getting any followup, I called. After almost an hour, finally just got told that it *wasn't* misrepresented and that I was basically SOL. So over $500 lost and a family trip ruined.Review from Jamie H

Immediately after booking my reservation with *************************** for an Oak Island VRBO home, I requested a cancellation which she agreed to and according to her Cancellation Policy I would receive 100% refund. I have yet to receive my refund from *************************** of ********* ** for her OAK ISLAND home and she will no longer respond to my messages. VRBO is of no help getting the return processed. Horrible customer service from ********************** and horrible host.
