Complaint: I went to Victory Kia in Victoria, TX because I needed them to diagnose why my 2006 Kia Sorento was vibrating while I was accelerating. So the mechanic put the car in the air and looked at it and said that it was the carrier bearing in the rear-end drive shaft. I then asked if we could replace the carrier bearing and he said yes, but the guy inside said no we have to buy the whole drive shaft (that is my first issue). Who is telling me the truth. Then I asked how much it would cost and the guy inside said the drive shaft is $900.00 and the labor would be another $1500.00. Not wanting to spend that much I asked if it was ok to drive on (so I could get another estimate from my personal mechanic) and the mechanic there said yes it would be fine it will just vibrate a lot. I said ok and went home. A few days later when I took it to my mechanic he looked at it for a few seconds and said that it was the u-joint in the drive shaft and that it was just about to come out. And asked where I had taken it before bringing it to him because he noticed finger marks on the drive shaft I told him Kia and also told him what the mechanic there told me and my mechanic looked at me in amazement. Then I told him that I had driven to Austin, TX and back (because I needed to pick up my son from his aunt) and he said that he was surprised that my car made and that we were still alive. I asked why and he said because the u-joint is about to break. He said depending on how it breaks the car could either flip over on to the roof or bounce around underneath the car breaking pretty much everything under the car, puncturing the gas tank, and possibly tire(s) coming off. I looked at him in shock and thanked GOD that we are all ok. This company needs new mechanics REALLY BADLY. I will NEVER buy another kia again because of what I just went through.

Desired Settlement: I feel that they should have to buy the u-joint that I need for my vehicle so that I can take the part to my mechanic (who I trust) so I can have him fix my car.
