Problems with Product/Service

Complaint: We received a flier in the mail that said we had won $500. I called to confirm that this was not a promotion and that I had won this money. I was told that I had won this $500 and to come down to claim my prize that I should do so today as the cash was in the store. We drove an hour to get there to be told that coming in would place us in a further drawing and that today we would get a gift card for up to $50. When I explained that we had called and confirmed and spent the last of our gas to get there to claim this prize we were told that was incorrect. We asked for the manager who came out very angrily and would only yell at my husband and would not let me speak. Every time I would start he would start talking on his phone. Very unprofessional. I tried to explain to him what we were told and we were then thrown out. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. We ended up spending all our gas and two hours in the car for nothing. Just to be humiliated and treated terribly. I will never shop at Cavender Fiat and will be sure to let anyone thinking of shopping there to do otherwise.
Desired Settlement: I would ideally like to receive the $500 I was told I had won. However, I would settle for at least $100 to reimburse us for the gas we had spent on drive and the unhumane treatment we received.
We contacted the customer, and apologized. We let her know that it was a promotional company that was here, and we are sending her $100 gift card for her gas and trouble.
BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
