We found a bill for a new $730 dishwasher at my dementia-ridden, 97-year old grandmothers home who was moving to assisted living the next day. We called the company on March 7, 2024 who installed the dishwasher a few days earlier, Oak Hill Appliances, and spoke to "******" to ask if they had indeed installed a new dishwasher. ****** told me no, that they only made a service call for $96.34 and my grandmother, *********************, owed them this money. Two minutes later, a man named ******************* called to aggressively ask me why I was inquiring about this order because he had a dishwasher for $730 installed at **************** house. When i asked why he installed a such an expensive dishwasher and in white when the kitchen is all black with all black appliances, he asked if I was threatening him. When i asked the return policy, he refused to provide one so I told him I would speak with my grandmother's legal guardian for next steps. Upon further review, the bill provided to my grandmother also included a note that stated if she made the check to ******************* she would not have to pay taxes. At this time, we are working with the bank to see who the check was written to and if it has been cashed. This company has clearly taken advantage of a very, very elderly and demented woman.
