Science Care took care of my husband when he died last year. I was so impressed with their care of him, their consideration and kindness to me and my son. It is my wish to use them again when I die.Review from Dereka H

This Buisness HELPED ME. I am glad I was able to Help them. It was difficult loosing my loved one. Every staff I spoke to in Science Care, including the *************** that had my loved one cremated WAS EXCELLENT. Process was easy. From intake to receiving my loved ones remains. Before you decide on this horrific experience, I suggest that you go to their website.. Look aroundwith just a few clicks, you can easily see their attempt at marketing tactics to sell your loved ones as fresh or flash frozen!. The are very proud of how fast they can send the body parts, but youll pay a hefty price if you need several 40 year old women for the next dayWith all of the money they gain, you would think they would have an alternate website or access for those to whom they sell (not donate). Its WAY to easy to stumble on the truth while they combine both the gift of donation with the callous, disrespectful advertisement of selling humans as if they mean nothing.I work in medical research and have been in the medical field for 15 years. I was proud to see my mother made this choice, until I realized that she chose the worst possible place to donate. Oh, and make sure you double check that they even have the correct name. They put the wrong middle name for my mother and had to resubmit the correction with the county. The woman was all business like about it in the email. DO NOT DONATE HERE!! Do NOT DO NOT DO NOT!!There are tons of medical schools around the country who will treat your loved ones with the dignity and respect they deserve. I know- because I work for a major school of medicine. This experience was horrific and I woudnt wish it on anyone.Review from Glenda B

My dad's body got sent to Science Care I really did not know what Science Care was until I called them and someone explained all the details to me. Frankly I find it VERY disturbing what is done to the donated bodies. I am now having nightmares, horrible nightmares about my dad being hacked up. I am now having to go to counseling over this. I think Science Care is sick. I get doctors having to learn, but there has to be another way besides just cutting people's loved ones up the way that Science Care does. It's wrong. He was my dad not something you could just hack up, my live now will never be the same thanks to Science Care now I will forever have those horrible images in my head for the rest of my lifeReview from Virginia B.

This is the 5-year anniversary of my mom's death. It was a very difficult time; we were the best of friends, in addition to being mother and daughter. My mom had all her arrangements in order; she was leaving her body to a local medical school. When she passed, I used the card with her donation information to contact the medical school. To my horror, they simple told me that their facility was full and they could not take her body. I called other medical schools and had no success. Then, the funeral home professionals (that had been called by the assisted living facility) had arrived and they were extremely understanding when I found that I didn't know what do to next. The funeral home professionals told me about Science Care and I contacted Science Care immediately. I admit they asked a lot of questions; and I will be forever grateful to my mom for keeping such good (and readily assessible) health records. Science Care was very clear about how her body would be used, and I was okay with their process. I realized that they were not a non-profit organization, but I felt they were a much better alternative than putting her body in the ground. After the phone call, the funeral home was able to take her body and the donation was completed. I am still glad that the funeral home told me about this alternative and I am pre-arranging for my own body to be given to Science Care.Review from Corey H

As a hospice social worker I say stay away from Science Care. There is always a problem and the body is rarely accepted for a host of reasons. Today, I called at 9am that my patient passed away and was told would be an hour. This is standard and acceptable for most all funeral transport companies. What is not normal is that by 1:30 pm the body is still there and the family is totally distressed. Many calls and was told another twenty minutes. Never happened. The worstuse a regular funeral home.

The standard removal time for a passing is 1-2 hours from the time of dispatch, Science Care is not a funeral home and therefore we do need to utilize funeral home partners for removals. Their response time is a direct reflection on Science Care, and we take that very seriously. What you have described is well outside of our agreed upon removal times and therefore I would like the opportunity to address this issue with the funeral home right away. I would like the opportunity to review what happened and address with our team and the funeral home immediately. Most importantly, we would like the chance to follow up with the family and express our apologies for this unacceptable delay. Your feedback is appreciated so that we may make sure we have the proper partners in place to help take proper care of our donor families at the time of passing. Can you please contact me directly so that I can obtain information for this case? Also, any information about donors that you have that haven't been accepted into our program for any reason would also be appreciated. Outside of contagious diseases (which includes COVID-19), extremely low or high body mass index, or the inability to locate a next of kin for consent, our acceptance rate is very high in our local markets. I want to review your experiences and see if there is anything we can take a deeper look at or improvements we can make. Our goal is to honor the intent of donation by placing as many donors with medical research, training, and education programs as possible. Therefore, we only decline donation when we can't honor that intent of donation. When my Father passed in 2016, Science Care made an Extremely difficult task Easy and painless for me. He had signed up with Science Care the previous year, at 90 years young. They picked up his body from the Durango Mortuary and transported it to their place, and Harvested Everything they needed.They cremated the remains and returned the ashes to me along with a beautiful ******* pyramid with heartfelt words etched into it. They covered Every expense!I apologize that it took so long to leave a Testimony. I highly recommend Science Care!Im signed up - and recommend it to my family and friends.
