    I contacted our HVAC company, on February 10, 2023, that we had used for years and had a current service contract. The issue that I had was to assist in installing a thermostat. I was advised that there would be a service charge of $125.00 to come out and I agreed. When the technician arrived and I explained the problem, he thought it could be just a fuse. That's what the problem turned out to be. It was a very simple 35amp fuse, that I could have purchased from a auto store or hardware store for $1.00. He informed me that his price was $75.00. I thought he was joking, but he assured me that what I was being charged. I had to pay, but asked who I could discuss this with, and he informed me that there wasn't anyone there, but I could leave a message, which I did. I waited a few days, and not hearing from them I called, and again left a message. No response. I was able to get an email to send my complaint and was also told that they were a family-owned company and that the owners would absolutely respond. They didn't, so I sent another email, and waited for a response. It has never come. In addition to this, we had renewed our service contract last May for 5 years, with the original company, not with the new one. The sale had not been completed when we renewed. Had we known that they would be sold, we would not have renewed,I was contacted by their dispatcher, to inform me that they were going to be in our area, and would I like to schedule an appointment, I informed them that I did not want anything to do with them, and I was going to file a complaint with the **** they basically hung up on me.What I want is a prorated refund for the outstanding amount left on our service contract. We did not sign up with the new company, and after this experience, I want nothing to do with them.

    I have been a customer for a very long time with the original Absolute Value Heating & Cooling, unfortunately they were bought out by *****. I had a problem with an installation of a thermostat, and I called the number I had. I was informed that the sale had taken place, and I wouldn't be dealing with the previous company. They informed me that there would be a service charge of $125.00, to which I agreed. When the technician arrived, he diagnosed the problem to be a simple fuse.. He informed me that the cost for a fuse that you could buy at any auto shop would be $75.00. I could not believe that they would charge that for something that was worth less than $1.00. I paid the bill and I asked who I should contact to challenge the charge, he informed me that there was no one available to talk to, but he gave me a number to call, which I did and left a message. I did not receive a call back, so I called again and left a message. I called the main number and was told to send an email, which I did. There was no response, so I again sent an other email and still no response.In addition to all of this, we had renewed our service contract with the original Absolute Value, and I want to cancel and get a prorated refund. There is no one that will answer my email and no number to call. I have since learned that the parent company is out of *******, and they don't seem to be interested in even talking to me.When I did talk to the dispatcher, and informed them that I would be filing a complaint with the **** they basically hung up on me. I would discourage anyone from using their services.
