    Cease and Desist

    On February 3, 2009 the Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department issued a final Order against Bankcard Empire to Cease and Desist from offering and/or selling any business opportunity in the State of Illinois.

    In April 2008, Bankcard Empire offered and/or sold to Illinois residents a business opportunity to purchase supplies, equipment or services to enable the start of a business, including but not limited to radio ads, websites, business cards, marketing materials, website integration, reporting and other tools to facilitate the program, as well as a marketing plan. The tools would purportedly enable clients to accept major credit cards and process other forms of non cash payment transactions. Bankcard Empire would then pay a commission to residents. The business opportunity would be provided to the residents in return for total payments of $30,000. The promotion or offer constitutes an offer and/or sale of a business opportunity as those terms are defined in the Illinois Business Opportunity Sales Law of 1995.

    Bankcard Empire failed to obtain or file for registration of the above referenced business opportunity prior to sales within the State of Illinois. Therefore, the Secretary of State found that Bankcard Empire violated the law and Ordered the company to Cease and Desist from offering or selling business opportunities to Illinois residents.
