My son was arrested for confronting my grand-daughters bully. He hired ******** Offices in ******* ** because they said they could get the charges reduced or dropped. Once he paid them $6000, they did not present any evidence and would not return calls. They said that "it does not matter why he did it, just that he did it". This resulted in him being convicted of a Class 6 felony. He used to be a Police Sergeant and has never been in trouble with the law. His probation was violated 3 days later (on a Friday) because he did not have a chance (he was working 80 hours per week) to sell his prior service weapon, resulting in a Class 4 felony. When he went to court with a new attorney, *****************, and the Judge saw the evidence (videos submitted by *****************) for the first offense, he dropped it to a Misdemeanor due to mitigating circumstances. If he had been properly represented in the first case, he would have never been on felony probation resulting in the second charge. Now he has spent over $17,000, sat in jail for 36 days and has to go back for 54 more, lost both of his jobs, lost his EMT license, and has to go back to school to find something that he can do with a felony on his record. He is a single father to two kids and he missed Thanksgiving and Christmas due to all of this. He has lost sleep and couldn't eat for fear of going to prison for 3-5 years and facing a $150,000 fine. We will be seeking legal recourse against Hamp Law Offices to hold them accountable, and we want my son to be compensated for the total destruction of his life due to their negligence handling his original case. No one should EVER hire this law firm to defend them for anything.
