Complaint: On 11-30-2011 I purchased one of their water conditioners. I was told that I would have pure drinking water out of every faucet in the house, plus I would use half the soap for dishes, bathing and have high quality water for use throughout the house. I could even use it on my house plants.Within a week, I began tasting chlorine in the water I drank. It was like I was drinking chlorox. They came out, replaced the unit and said it would be fine. After 3 more replacements, I finally started getting decent water to drink. However, when they replaced the last unit, I wanted to move my car out of the garage so they could get to the unit to replace it. Lo and behold, they had parked their big service truck directly in front of my 3-stall garage driveway and when I backed out (not thinking anyone was parked there) I hit their truck. I called and wanted them to just take the unit back and give me my money back. NO CAN DO. I AM STUCK WITH IT. Besides, if I didn't pay for the damage on their truck, they would sue me. I did not contact my insurance company because they would have told me it was my fault. I paid them $643.17 to keep it off my insurance record.Everything was working okay up until 2 months ago. All at once, I began seeing spots/food particles left on my dishes/glassware after running my dishwasher. After washing my hair, it felt like wire (regardless of what shampoo/conditioner I used on it). I called and this morning, a service man came out and said he'd set the timer to backwash every 3rd day. I asked if there was a charge and the workman told me not until I've had it for a year, then the charge per service call would be approximately $140.I'm getting ready to call an attorney (which I can't afford) but I paid $4550 for the unit and I want it out of my house. I'm 82 years old and cannot deal with all of what they've put me through.I NEED HELP. Let me know if they are registered with the BBB and if there has been any other complaints. ******* *****
Desired Settlement: Just refund my purchase price of $4550.00
On 11/30/2011 the consumer purchased an H2O Concepts system on 12/1/2012 H2O Concepts install the Consumers system. On 12/29/2011 the consumer contact H2O and wanted the system checked for Chlorine. On 12/29/2011 H2O went out checked the system. On 12/30/2011 H20 went out and replaced the system. On 2/9/2012 H2O went out to check.the system. Consumer moved out her car so H2O could get to the system. Consumer backed into H2O's utility truck. Consumer and H2O Installer both called into H2O's office to say what had just happen. H2O Concepts General Manager (GM) spoke to consumer. The consumer stated that the consumer had just backed into H20's work truck. MG told the consumer that H2O would call the police to write out a police report. Consumer told H2O that consumer could not afford to have anything else reported to consumer insurance, consumer would lose insurance. GM told consumer H2O would be willing to get an estimate on the damages and consumer could just pay for the repairs. Consumer went back and forth with GM on all options at the end consumer decided that paying for the damages was the best thing to do. Estimate was hand delivered to the Consumer front door. The Consumer wrote a check of $643.17 to Bell Ford. During the time that the consumer and GM where talking consumer asked to have the system removed and to get a refund. GM let the consumer know that H2O concepts does not have a money back policy, they repair or replace systems that are not working correctly. However GM understood that the consumer was upset and told the consumer that H2O would refund the consumers money less the install and material to reconnect plumbing, total of $520.00 or send the service manager (SM) out to replace the system because the consumer sent away the installer that had gotten his truck hit before he could service the system. Consumer agreed to have the SM come out on 2/9/2012 and change out the system. System Consumer called back on 5/7/2012 and claimed to have problems with the dishes. On 5/8/2012 Installer went and did some adjustments on the system and at that time consumer said everything was good. Consumer had asked if there will ever be a charge for service, Installer said yes after the first year there is a $145.00 service charge. H2O warranty states "A Service Charge may be charged to the owner for Service Calls after a period of twelve months from the date of installation." H2O does not want the consumer to be unhappy so we are willing to wave the service charge until consumers warranty expirers.
