My name is ****** ********** and my landlord required me to pay electric utility in July 2019.  I complained about the high bills to to CWLP they referred me back to my Landlord and said they were not doing any audits because of COVID.  I worked during the day and for hours that I was home I did not use that much electricity. I asked few other tenants about their electric bills ($30 to 60) and theirs were much lower than mine.  In December 2021, the lights went out in the building and that is when I discovered that my unit break box controlled the common area, and one other unit that I could see.  The landlord had an electrician out to correct the wiring issue. I was not given a wiring diagram and to my visual inspection, the electrician removed my main breaker switch from my breaker box and did not correct the common area and possibly other units' wiring problems. As of May 5, 2022, I have paid over $3,000 too CWLP electric bill. I sat with **** ******** to discuss compensation . His offer was $825 credit. That is not acceptable for me. As the under 765 ILCS 735/) Rental Property Utility Service Act I am due one hundred precent compensation as the utilities in my name supplied common areas as well as other tenants units.
