In April of 2013 I went to Familia Dental to have a check up and cleaning. Not only did they NOT clean my teeth(only brushed which I could have done myself) They told me I had to pay upwards of $45 that would not be covered by insurance. I said insurance covers 100% of routine check up, exams and cleanings. They said it would not but if it does they would refund me. As I had told them, it did cover 100% and they were paid in full by my insurance company. When I called about my refund, I was transferred to an out of state customer service who could not help me at all. Everyone I spoke to gave me the run around and refused to refund my money.

I want the total amount paid to them by myself via personal check, to be refunded IN FULL

Good afternoon,

We apologize for the delay and any incovenience this may have caused. I am assuming Mrs. ***** is referring to the visit on 4/1/2014, since I don't see any other visit in her history. Nonetheless, I had our billing and collections department review her act since I do see that she paid out of pocket and we also received payment from her insurance.

As stated by Mrs. *****, her insurance did cover 100% of her visit, and we received payment from them on 6/25/2014. At that moment, after entering payment, her account should have reflected the credit in order for accounting to process the refund. However, it looks like the system did not update correctly to show that credit. Once again, I do apologize for this and thank the patient for her patience. Today, since the corrections were made in the act, I submitted a refund request to our accounting department. Accounting will be issuing a check for the amount we received from the patient ($42) to the address provided above. Please allow 5-10 business days to receive the check in the mail.
Regarding the cleaning mentioned, the patient did receive an Adult Prophylaxis, or cleaning. However, we want all our patients to be satisfied with the work and it sounds like Mrs. ***** is not. As a result, we would be more than happy to schedule an appointment for a redo of the cleaning (at no charge). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
