Our air conditioner for the upstairs went out some time during the night on Sunday Night 9/7/14. Since the unit was originally installed by advanced air Technology, my wife called for a service/repair. The repair man came on Monday 9/8/14 at around 3;30 PM. he checked the upstai unit and found that power switch was not functoning properly. He did not have switch with him. He told my wife that he will be with the swirch son and fix the problem. My wife if what is the estimated price of the switch, he replied that it is costly. It may $10.00 to $15.00 She said put it in.the repair man came back after 24 hours on Tuesday 9/9/14 at about before noon.After completing his task of installing the switch in 10 minutes, he came down and gave her an invoice of $200 for the switch and $75.00 for the service visit. She got shocked at this high charge. She reminded him of what he told him before. he threatned her, that she does not pay, he will remove the switch and you still have pay for the service/visit $75.00.She verified from hardware stores Home Depot and Lowes. The switch cost $3.00 only. When she told the helper at HD and Lowes, that the repair man charged her $200.00,he laughed to. He said the switch in question is not gold plated and it ordinary switch. this is complete rip off.I want BBB to take serious action against this unethical practice of cheating consumers by greedy businesses. I want such business black listed so the consumers shall fall in their tap. Such unethical prctces must be punished by revoking their business license as aminimum.I request through your office that the Advanced Air Technology must refund the difference asap.

We inform every customer that there is a $75 diagnostic fee, that price does not change no matter how long it take to find the problem. After the problem is found we have a flat rate price book that show each repair so that the repair is the same price no matter who's home we are helping. We always show the price before making the repair. After the repair was made then all of a sudden Mrs. ****** wanted a discount at which time the service tech discounted the price 10% in an attempt to make her happy. After she wrote the check she still complained and the service tech offered to remove the switch so they could get someone else to do the repair but the diagnostic fee would still have to be paid. She then sent him on his way. Two days later we had a very contentious phone call with Mr. ******. We did everything we could to make these people happy, we are refunding them any money since they knew the price before we started and our prices are the same for everyone. Yes the part did not cost much but that is a high overhead business and that cost of business has to be passed ** to the consumer.
