I recently leased a mobile home at ******************************* *******,**. ***** . On 1/18/2024 I emailed Seco electric asking what information was needed to open a account for ************************* at the above address. On 1/23/2024 Seco replied, in order to set up service they would require a noterized lease containing the names of all adults that will be living in the home also a inspection of the meter can is required the results had to be on company letterhead showing the address, the primary account holders name, the electritions name and license number.On 2/06/2024 i sent a email stating the electrition had contacted Seco and was told if he valued his license he would NOT do any work at that property. I didn't understand why they did that.On 2/7/2024 tracking ******* email asking me to come in to the office.On 2/20/2024 I phoned and gave all my info the gentalman said he didnt believe I was who I said I was. 2/27/2024 I went it to there office a copy of my lease was copied,along with my license.I had a 25 year old bill of 300$ wich I immediatly paid in cash. Then I was informed the prior tenant had a outstanding balance and a charge of meter tampering the bill was around 3000$!!! I was told that a determination would be made in a few days.On 3/6/2024 I sent another email stating that I should not be held responsible for the prior occupants bill,also told them that the name of the owner and there phone number was on the lease. I believe if nothing else the owner should be held accountable not me the new tenant.On 3/6/2024 there email stated that in order for service to be restored all fees have to be paid and a inspection needed to be done. I almost feel as if they want me to go after the home owner for the bill. Im wondering if my problem fits under the ******* Statute ******* :to refuse to provide or to discontinue utility services to the owners, tenants or prospective tenants of rental property, based upon the nonpayment for services by a previous tenant.
