Scam!! Received a call from "Thursday Bill" from tax group regarding back taxes. I do not owe back taxes. When I tried to call back the number provided it rang and rang. Number received to call back area code from ******* ** area.

Cold called by an automated system with recorded messages and simulated background sounds. Was "transferred" to "*********************** with The Tax Group", and after talking for about 30 seconds the recording went to "Actually hold on I gotta step into a meeting". Got a recording of all of it, came from an unknown name/number. It's 100% a scam bot caller.

Complete scam. I called them from a letter they sent me in the mail. On the first call, I asked who they were b/c the letter did not say anything about a company, looked very generic which should have been a red flag. The person who answered transferred me to a Mike ****** who spoke to me for 4 min then said he would call me back. When he called back, he was rushing me to commit to a monthly payment without even providing any insight as to how the process works. When I asked him how it works, he told me he didn't have time to speak to me now but if I was willing to set up a payment, I could call him back in the morning and he would give me "10 minutes" to explain it. He kept saying it was tax season and they were busy, I explained that I understood that but this process was very new to me so I had questions. He said "look, go online, look up the tax relief programs and if you think you can make monthly payments, call me back" and hung up on me. When I called the number ending in 7406 back, I asked the guy who answered what the name of the group was. All he would say is Tax Group. He wouldn't give me any website info, etc until I told him whether or not I had a letter. I told him I think I was speaking to someone who was intending on scamming me and I'd appreciate more info on the company to know it's legit. He hung up on me.
