Our HOA account was inherited by Whitestar when J&W Management was acquired; after most of their staff (and a good amount if not all of their accounts) left, we got to deal directly with ****** ******, one of the owners of the company, and without an assigned manager.. There were challenges, as our prior management company provided disorganized documentation to J&W, and then Whitestar had some issues sorting through the records from J&W and repeatedly blamed the manager we hired at J&W. That manager was THE SOLE REASON we elected to make the switch to J&W and at my first one on one meeting with them I shared that. In October, our Reserve account CD was due to mature, and with much discussion with Whitestar and among the board, we elected to move funds to two CDs at the bank where Whitestar had their accounts for us. The email paper trail provided shows the intent to fund there as well as the promotional rates, and we were under the assumption that ****** and team had followed through. Also in October, ****** finally succombed to our needs, and brought in a manager named Liz who did not get the proper information for the account, and in turn walked away from our account 12/15 AFTER they received their last payment for the MONTH of December. We discovered in FEB 2023 that the intended CD's had not been set up, and that our funds remained liquid. We were never informed that was the case, and in fact was the opposite of what the Board voted to do. I'm as**** for a) an acknoledgement that ****** personally dropped the ball in a formal letter, AND b) the amount of interest we lost because of their error for November/December/January (or 1 quarter) for 50K at the 7 mo promo rate, and another 50k at the 13 month promo rate.
