Complaint
Secretly replaced compressor capacitor with two capacitors under rated and damaged to fan. Leaked over two pounds of refrigerant as well.
Secretly replaced compressor capacitor with two capacitors under rated and damaged to fan. Leaked over two pounds of refrigerant as well according to Carrier Service Company. This AC unit had never been serviced since new, and was working perfectly before I responded to their $59. service offer and had them out! What a scam!

Desired Settlement
To pay the bill for repairing this unit and replacement of Puron refrigerant.

On 6/13/2014 we performed a pre-season $59.00 tune up for first time customer Mr. ****.
His system is a 10 year old system that was operational. We made recommendations for repairs.
the repairs were declined.
Other than cleaning and testing the system no other work was performed.
Mr. **** contacted us after hours on the evening of the 19th. His unit had failed and the other company charged him for new capacitors and R410A refrigerant. He demanded that I pay this bill.I responded to him immediately and informed him I would investigate the claims and call him back in the morning.
On 6/20/2014 I called Mr. **** in the morning to discuss what work we performed.
He then accused my technician of swapping out defective parts and removing his refrigerant and wanted me to pay for the service call from the other company.
I told Mr. **** he was mistaken, we have no reason to do such a thing and I would not compensate him for these repairs.
Mr. **** then threatened a law suit and hung up the phone
