I am not impressed with this business. I was in the process of receiving the O-shot treatment for vaginal prolapse. I wasn't examined by a medical doctor so I wasn't informed on how bad the prolapse was. So I unknowingly moved forward with treatment and went to two sessions and was asked if I would like to pay for my last session prior to attending and I agreed. After my second session I received a call from the manager asking me if I would go and have testing done for sexually transmitted diseases because the nurse that treatment me had stuck herself with the needle she used for my treatment and that they would pay for the testing. After that my last appointment was cancelled because they didn't have the necessary items needed for the treatment. I was eventually called out of state on a family emergency to take care of my parents and was unable to reschedule the last treatment and to be honest I didn't believe it helped with incontinence as I had hoped. I have since been to a medical doctor and was informed that my prolapse was more pronounced and that I would have to go to physical therapy in order to help with incontinence during asthma attacks. After all of this I sent several emails and made several phone calls to request a money back and was finally contacted my Diana and was told that the company had a no refund policy but they would give me a $600.00 credit even though I paid $1,400.00 for the last treatment. I would definitely suggest not going to this spa or having the O-shot, it is a scam to get vulnerable women to give up their hard earned money.

Advanced Body & Laser Center Response

      08/01/2022

Advanced body and laser is a medical spa that performs elective aesthetic procedures to enhance your life. We do not diagnose or treat illnesses or diseases. However, we always do a medical clearance on everyone treated here at ABLC. If it is revealed that you have a pre-existing condition that would interfere or cause an adverse reaction with treatments then you would be denied treatment or you would be asked to obtain written clearance from your doctor. In reviewing your chart from 2017, I noticed that the health questionnaire paperwork that you completed and signed has no mention of prolapse or any other medical concerns. You were asked if you were being treated for any ongoing illness, which you denied. One of the requirements for the procedures that you received requires a recent pap-smear which you stated that you had done on….The treatments that you did receive helps a variety of Women's health issues. You did meet with our nurse practitioner that specializes in gynecology that medically cleared you for treatments that you received. In 2017, you came in for a complimentary consultation. At that time you signed our no refund policy. You were also given the cost breakdown. We recommend a series of 3 treatments and offered a percentage off if the series was purchased. You didn’t want to pay for all treatments upfront for you wanted to see the results of one before paying for all 3. We still offered you the discount and allowed you to pay per treatment. You paid 3 different times. The nurse that treated you does not have any recollection of a finger poke but it does happen. There’s no incident report and if we owe you money for lab work please reach out. I’m confused about your claim for partial credit. This did take place 5 years ago so I’m happy to provide you with copies of your chart and paperwork. If you would like to reach out to management again please ask for Lesa or Gayane for I’m not sure who Diane is. Thank you.

      Customer Response

First, I would like to apologize, I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids so to clarify, I spoke with Gayane, not Diane. I would like to start by saying that if your organization doesn’t diagnose then you probably should forgo calling yourself a “medical” spa, as it is very misleading. I came to your organization seeking assistance with an issue that I was having with incontinence when I cough and explained that I have asthma and couldn’t leave the house without fear of having an attack in public and urinating on myself. I also explained to Gayane, and the nurses that performed my first two treatments, about feeling a bump protruding out of my vagina but I am not responsible for what is written by the medical professionals in my file. It wasn’t until after all of this that I was informed that the very visible protrusion was due to vaginal prolapse. Your organization simply required that I have a pap smear prior to treatment and that is exactly what I did. I expected your organization to do the ethical thing and not move forward with a treatment that wouldn’t help with incontinence because your medical staff should have been able to identify the issue with the protrusion. Furthermore, I didn’t pay 3 different times, I paid for the last treatment on my second visit. It wasn’t until the following day that I was notified that I needed to go for testing for sexually transmitted diseases because the nurse that was preforming the treatment was jittery from way too many energy drinks and having already worked a 12-hour shift, and the reason I know this was because she apologized profusely for having poked me unsuccessfully 4 of 5 times leaving a bruise. I am sure all you have to do is to verify that there were two checks written to me to cover the cost of the tests. Furthermore, this didn’t necessarily take place 5 years ago, according to a copy of my appointment reminder I had an appointment on January 14th, 2019 which I believed was cancelled because YOUR office hadn’t received a shipment for something that was necessary for the O treatment. After which time I had to leave the state to take care of an emergency with my parents and then I believe you were closed for the pandemic. And when I was finally able to contact your organization to inquire about a refund Gayane informed me that I would receive a credit for $600.00, and not the full $1,400.00 that I prepaid. As for the paperwork that I signed, I don’t have a recollection of being informed about the non refundable clause at any time and doesn’t change the fact that I would still be out $800.00. With all of that being said, and the fact that there is no incident report for the nurse poking herself, I believe even more that your organization is not one that I would, or should, continue to trust with my health. As far as I am concerned you accepted payments for goods and services that were never rendered, and that is theft. And I will continue to warn people about your organization.
