If I could give a lower star I would. We recently moved out of a rental home at **** N. ****** in Fresno, CA. The rental unit was left in similar cleanliness and condition as the day we moved in with the only need for minor touch up painting on one wall in the master bedroom where the headboard of our bed had left a mark and yet Granville Properties just sent an estimated of the costs of Parts and Labor for cleaning and repairs to the unit of $1300 ($800 for cleaning and $500 in unitemized Parts and Labor for Unspecified Repairs.) Any cleaning to the unit is unnecessary as the unit was left in similar cleanliness to the day we moved in and the estimated cost of cleaning at $800 is at twice the local market rate for a like and kind property in the area. The rental property is in need of repairs as it's concrete front porch is crumbling and presents an injury hazard; so dangerous in fact that upon Granville Property Management's last annual inspection their inspection team made a note of the dangerous situation and the need for immediate repair. An estimator came out at some point but the repairs were never completed by Granville Property Management. We continued to live in a unit where we could not use the front porch area because of the danger to personal injury it presented. Additionally, we could not use the driveway because the metal frame of the gate was in need of repair and we were afraid of using the gate at all for fear it would fall on us. In our two plus yers on living at the unit with the required annual inspections of landlords to inspect for repairs Granville Property Management and its representatives chose to make no repairs but only upon move out have they suddenly decided the unit is in need of unspecified and unitemized repairs in the amount of $500 and that the unit requires $800 of cleaning (again, twice the market rate for a deep cleaning in the Fresno area) even though the unit was left in similar cleanliness to the day we moved in. Such blatant attempts to gouge tenants for unnecessary repairs and cleaning in order to keep $1300 of our security deposits is dishonest and in bad faith. We paid our rent on time every month for our entire tenancy and it's disturbing that we must end on such a bad note. We only hope that Granville Property will come to a reasonable and timely settlement of our dispute without the need to pursue further action.https://www.bbb.org/customer-review-submission-terms
