Complaint: they never had A/C system inspected they put a complete new system in my house in 2007 they pulled a permit but never had it inspected and no final inspection I recently had another contractor over to fix a bad condenser fan motor and was told this system was never inspected as it would not pass ** I called the city of Redlands and they sais a permit was pulled but never inspected I called westcoast n they said they wont get new permit and wont repair anything without me repaying

Desired Settlement: take out new permit and bring system up to current code and have system signed off by city of redlands

We did pull a permit and with all of our jobs we have the client call the city for final inspection because it typically is easier for the client to schedule the final rather than make it a 3 party scheduling mess. If I was worried about it not passing *** inspection I would not have pulled the permit originally. Now that he let it lapse and 8 years have gone by (8 YEARS) it will not pass *** new standards being enforced. The problem with pulling a new permit is the code being enforced today compared to then would cost the client nearly a thousand extra dollars to comply. This is not the biggest issue he faces. I went out to inspect the system at no charge two weeks ago. The failure in the motor was simply a mechanical failure of the equipment and has nothing to do with the installation process. I could understand if it was a year out, but I think any reasonable person would think that 8 years is a bit much to even discuss this option. I believe the other company he had out to change the motor simply wanted to sell him something and that is what prompted this discussion. We work really hard to meet our clients request, I have a hard time understanding the BBB given this any credibility what so ever.
