Complaint: THE WEDDING RINGS I DROPPED OFF WERE IMPROPERLY SIZED AND SOLDERED INCORRECTLY, RESULTING IN BOTH RINGS NOT FITTING AND ONE REQUIRING ADDITIONAL WORK.
MY FIANCE AND I WENT INTO AGNEW JEWELERS AROUND X-X-XXXX TO HAVE BOTH OF OUR WEDDING RINGS WORKED ON. MY RING WAS TO BE RESIZED TO A LARGER SIZE. MY FIANCE'S RING WAS TO BE SOLDERED TOGETHER (HER ENGAGEMENT RING AND TWO ADDITIONAL BANDS) AND BE RESIZED TO A LARGER SIZE AS WELL, DUE TO ALL OF THE RINGS MAKING UP A WIDER BAND.
I PICKED UP THE RINGS ON 5-15-2013, PAID $185.00 ON MY DEBIT CARD, AND TOOK THEM HOME. WHEN MY FIANCE GOT HOME AND REMOVED HER RING FROM THE PACKAGE, SHE REALIZED IT WAS COMPLETELY OFF CENTERED. SHE CALLED THE STORE IMMEDIATELY AND THEY TOLD HER TO BRING IT BACK THE NEXT DAY. SHE WAS VERY UPSET BECAUSE THE RINGS WERE GOING TO HAVE TO BE TORN APART AND RE-SOLDERED. WE WERE BOTH PRETTY SHOCKED THAT THEY WOULD LET SOMETHING THAT LOOKED SO BAD LEAVE THEIR SHOP.
I TOOK THE RING BACK TO AGNEW ON 5-16 AND PICKED UP THE RING THAT AFTERNOON. WE WERE STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE PLACEMENT OF THE RINGS. BUT NOW THAT MY FIANCE WAS ABLE TO TRY THEM ON, THE RING DID NOT FIT - IT WAS STILL TOO SMALL. ON THE OTHER HAND, MY WEDDING BAND WAS TOO LARGE FOR MY FINGER. THE SALES REP IN THE STORE IS THE ONE THAT SIZED OUR FINGERS AND TOLD US WHAT SIZE TO GET.
DUE TO THE QUALITY OF SERVICE WE HAD ALREADY RECEIVED, WE DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE TAKING OUR RINGS BACK TO *****. NOW, WE WERE GOING TO BE PUSHED FOR TIME TO HAVE ACCURATE ALTERATIONS WITH OUR WEDDING BEING 5-25.
I WAS REFERRED BY FRIENDS AND COWORKERS TO GO TO ***** JEWELERS IN TRUSSVILLE. I HAD TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $135.00 TO HAVE THE ERRORS CORRECTED.
Business' Initial Response
*** ******* never made my company aware the finger sizes were not correct. Finger sizes vary somewhat from a cooler to warmer day. We had plenty of time to correct the size and wished we had been notified. I am willing to repay the $135.00 to *** *******; however, I am still unsure how I could have corrected the finger size.
In my opinion, I should only be responsible for the realignment that *** ******* brought to our attention.

Due to how the first complaint was handled, and it was still not corrected, I didn't feel it was in my best interest to return our rings back to your shop with only a week left before our wedding.
I appreciate and accept the repayment of $135.00 and will consider this matter resolved.
