Complaint Long Lewis towed my vehicle in for service repairs after I was in an accident in 2012. After I received my vehicle back I noticed there were scratches on the back up camera where someone tried to pop the camera cover off. I reported it to the service manager (*****) and he said bring it by and they would fix it. However, after I did, and he saw how much it would cost to repair it, he kept putting me off saying he was looking for a part and so on. I contacted my insurance company ****** ***** after being put off for almost a year and now they say they did not do the damage when they surely did. As of this day my backup camera still does not work properly, whether it needs adjusted or what I don't know because they treat me like I don't exist. Someone in their service department tried to pry my backup camera cover off from the inside of my car and when who ever realized that was not how you fix it, they let it damaged for me. The manager said it would cost me $1,000.00. to fix it. My insurance company says it should have been fixed before they returned it to me, and they have done nothing but put me off. I cannot see anything but fuzzy features on my backup camera and sometimes it beeps when no one is behind me. I am thoroughly disgusted with Long Lewis. I am turning this over to the BBB and also *** * to get some satisfaction. They know they damaged it and they need to fix it.
Desired Settlement I want them to fix my back up camera correctly and replace the cover with a new one since it was not damaged when they towed it in.
Business Response Contact Name and Title: ****** ************** *** Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: *******@longlewis.com The dealership ******* ******** ****** ****** contacted **** ***** on 1/13/14 and discussed the issue and explained due to length of time ago this occurred, requested she bring the car by and meet with him, go over the concern and he would work with her in a resolution. She agreed so at this time the dealership is waiting on her to bring the vehicle by and meet with us.
Final Consumer Response I met with ********* on Jan 20, 2014, and he took my vehicle for a drive and checked my back up camera, after a few attempts of adjusting it, he had it fixed so I could see properly when backing up. I must say he was very courteous and professional and apologized for this mix up. He had it fixed in less than 10 minutes after I fought about it for 2 years. I called my insurance company and informed them we are making progress. I got a call Jan 21, 2014 from ***** and she said ** ****** got me a new part to fix my scratched camera and I am dropping off my vehicle today to get it fixed. I am optimistic they will do a good job. ** ****** was terrific and listened to me and although he did not think they were at fault, he did acknowledge it should not have taken this long and I should not have been so frustrated. I will know in a day or two if all is fixed. At this time I can say Long Lewis has an exemplary manager in *** ******* and if all is fixed, after today, I will continue to do business with them. Thank You, ***** *****
