Complaint I purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey from this company in August of 2014 and clearly written on my Bill of Sale is "Redie seats" as the seats were extremely stained. I have been calling/texting/emailing since then and have even been promised new seats, they have even gone as far as to book an appointment with me to get brand new seats which they would ultimately cancel. I would like for this company to live up to there legal obligations.
Desired Settlement I would like all my seats in my Dodge Journey either re dyed or if this is not possible then the seats replaced.
Business Response We sold this vehicle on July 23/14 and the seats were dirty at the time of the sale. We told the customer that we could redye the seat on the drivers side and she agreed to this. Every time I booked an appointment for the redye she could not make the appointment. We also found a used seat but she made it clear at that time that she wanted a new seat. We are still willing to stand by our agreement and have the seat redyed. If the customer is not willing to abide by the agreement made at the time of sale there is nothing else we can do. Please consider this our final response on this matter and have the customer call if she wishes to have seat redyed.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.) I would happily take a "used" seat or have the business live up to what is CLEARLY written on the bill of sale "MUST REDYE SEAT". They have NEVER booked an appt with me, in fact they have NEVER returned any of my calls. I have all records of phone calls and text messages from ***, one of the salesmen at Country Auto. Please call me, book an appointment and live up to your obligations.
Final Business Response I personally spoke with ***** this morning and I have set up a solution to this problem. So hopefully when the work is done in the next week or so ***** will be contacting you to close this file.
Complaint I bought a car from these guys almost a year ago. I only had the car a week when I discovered there were major problems with the motor. I brought it in right away for them to fix it, and they only covered it up. I haven't been able to drive the vehicle all winter because it won't give off any heat.I actually talked to a professional at ****, and they said it needs a chemical flush, and test the cylinder heads to see why sludge is coming into the anti-freeze.It is not right to sell a car with a war anty for that price, when the engine is broken.
Desired Settlement I want is FIXED. Or refunded.
Business Response Contact Name and Title: ******* ****** Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ********@telusplanet.net Mr. ***** had called and left a message and the owner called him but was unable to reach him so he left a message. What we need to know is the mileage presently on the vehicle. This vehicle was sold in December 2012 and we have never heard back from this customer after the initial repair so we assumed the problem was fixed. So if Mr. ***** would like to call *** back we will see what we can do for him.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.) The car has been broken down all winter with a plethora of problems. Country Auto was quite aware of my financial limitations due to disability. I am not a cash machine, and feel taken advantage of.
I know the law, and vehicles are not suppose to be sold in this condition. If your forcing someone to buy a war ranty, and sell them with engine problems, is that really fair? Are you trying to take advantage of disabled people?
I've already given the Kilometres to the Better Business Bureau. Currently it sits at 166,072KM, and it started at 159,400KM. That's only 6672KM since then. It can only be used in EMERGENCY situations, or there could be catastrophic engine failure.
If you can't follow the rules, you should not sell vehicles.
Get a new mechanic if they are incompetent.
I don't wish to talk to ***, when I call a company that has very little business, I expect an answer. Not call back at YOUR convenience.
Fix the problem, or take it out in court.
Final Business Response Hi ******: There will be no further responses as this customer will not deal with the owner of this business and the last response from the customer stated he will be filing a law suit. Thanks ******* ******
Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Not a problem. I'll file the legal documents this week.
Complaint I have recently bought a vehichle from country auto, they were the last ones to do an engine service to it and 6 weeks later my engine oil drain plug was loosened to the point where the oil drained to the point where the engine was rendered destroyed. they have had the truck for over 2 months at this point and nothing has been done. i was not informed at thevpoint of purchace that the truck did not have any warrenty at all, the fault of the dealership. and on top of that the back seats were the wrong ones and had no seat belts and they kept telling me it would be fixed.
Desired Settlement The settlement im seeking at this point is a replacement engine and the seats and the seat belts all to be fixed at no cost to me seeings as how iv had to to chace the dealership for everything
Business Response This person called us and said he was in a fight in a bar and when he came out to leave he drove just 20k's and the vehicle started to make noise but he mentioned that the vehicle had been driving perfectly before this. After investigating he discovered that someone had loosen the oil plug and his oil had drained out. He also has an insurance claim and the insurance company has the vehicle. The insurance is involved because of his claim of vandalism over the plug removal. In regard to warranty this vehicle was financed through outside financing and he did not qualify for a the cost of a warranty and he was aware of this (this has nothing to do with us as we have no control over outside financing companies). Point in fact this person put over 6000 k's on this vehicle without changing the oil. In regard to the seats and the seat belts we have no problem providing these items. In regard to the engine this has nothing to do with us.
