Florists

If you need flower arrangements for a large event or if you are just looking for a small, simple bouquet, it’s important to find a reputable florist. Refer to these tips as a guide when choosing a florist.

Tips for Choosing a Florist:

Ask for Suggestions.
Ask friends and family members to recommend a florist. If you are in need of a florist for a special occasion, ask the venue manager to make a suggestion. Be sure to check out all florists at bbb.org to read reviews or complaints from previous customers. Search for the florist’s website to be sure they have a physical address.

Visit At Least Three Florists.  When searching for a florist, be sure to visit at least three different businesses.  Be sure to inquire about how much experience each florist has. If you are hiring the florist for a specific event, ask how many similar events they have done in the past. Look at multiple florists to allow you to compare prices for the arrangements you desire.

Check Qualifications.  A legitimate florist will belong to a professional organization in addition to wire services such as, Teleflora and Florists’ Transworld Delivery. These florists are concerned with allowing their consumers to send their flowers to a variety of locations. Florists that belong to organizations such as, the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), are proving that they are dedicated to their business and are willing to put effort into being the best at their craft. The AIFD provides certification to florists with outstanding design talent.

Visit the Location.  When considering a florist, be sure to visit their business. Check out the selection of flowers they carry on hand and judge the quality of their products. The flowers should be fresh and healthy. Don’t choose a florist where the flowers already have brown edges and are beginning to wilt. It’s also good to look for creativity in the displayed arrangements. Look for a florist that displays a clean facility and is open at hours that work with your schedule.

Check Out Their Customer Service.  A great florist will make an effort to establish a strong customer service relationship with their clients. When considering a florist, be sure they are able to accurately and promptly answer questions and concerns you may have about the products or arrangements. Once you begin to develop a relationship with the florist, they should remember the types of arrangements you prefer.

Request References.  If necessary, request a list of references from the florist you may contact. Contact at least three of the references to inquire about their experience with the florist and if they were completely satisfied with their bouquets or arrangements.
