Complaint: West Side Towing located at 2 Yale Street, Ashland, MA harassed me with unwelcome interrogations, asking personal questions and making offensive comments. In addition, they tried to inappropriately tax their services. They had my vehicle in possession for less than 24 hours. For this they charged a fee which was included in the price they gave me over the phone before I left to pick up the car. When I arrive at the destination, the "office" is a tiny trailer located in the back of big parking lot, in the middle of nowhere staffed with 5 males and 1 female. I ask to please pick up my car, ready to pay the amount I was told, when I find myself surrounded by all of the staff interrogating me about the tow. I told them that I just wanted to pay and pick up my car. They started asking personal questions such as where I am from, where was I towed, what apartment I live in. I did not feel comfortable with any of this. They insisted that they needed my apartment number for "legal" purposes in connection with my apartment complex and the "state law." None of this made sense. They kept talking nonsense about how they were correct in towing my car and purely just delaying the process of me taking the car back. All of this was highly inappropriate and unprofessional to say the very least. I made it very clear from the beginning that I just wanted my car back. They still continued delaying the process, kept refusing to give me a chance to pay, and kept me surrounded by them for over 30 minutes!!!!!! I was about to call 911 when one of the staff insisted that I pay the amount I was promised. Desperate to leave a very bad situation, I paid in cash the amount I was prepared to pay. I handed in the cash and asked for the change back of course. One of the staff still delayed the process by saying that I needed to sign the receipt BEFORE he handed me the change. This did not make sense. Why should I sign a receipt before the cash transaction is completed? Clearly he was trying to INTIMIDATE and OVERPOWER! He kept insisting that I needed to sign by the table where he was sitting, which was positioned close to his lap. Extremely disgusted by this vulgar and inappropriate behavior, I took the receipt, signed it away from him and handed it back. To add, it took a few hours to find a cab that was willing to drive to this location. It is a mystery why the cab companies in 4 surrounding towns would refuse business to drive someone to this location. Each time, the response from the cab companies was: "Sorry, we do not send our drivers to this location." It is not a long distance location, why then the hesitation. This is concerning. A police report has been filed. I have requested to never be contacted by any staff of this company, under any circumstance, for any reason, no exceptions.

Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for all the expenses in connection with this company which include the cash paid for the tow, for the cab fare paid to go there, and for All of the Emotional Distress of dealing with sexual harassment = $400.

Business Response: We take these statements very seriously, we do have audio and Video at the scene and did review this. After looking over the tapes we found that the statements made against us are not true.

Consumer Response: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

To Whom It May Concern:
My statements are 100% true.  A police investigation is supposed to determine the veracity of my statements.  The business is biased. This does not address my concerns of feeling attacked, threatened and lied to regarding the service fees.  I request that the audio and video tapes be released to the BBB for a unbiased review.

BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied.
