In 2021, I paid for an Amazon river cruise. A week before it was scheduled to leave, I had to have heart surgery and cancel the trip. The insurance company gave me a travel voucher, telling me that the cruise company instructed them to do that rather than give a cash refund. In 2022 I rescheduled the Amazon river cruise. At the last minute, they change the itineraries eliminating the entire Amazon river portion. I rescheduled it for 2023. In addition to my $9000 voucher I paid an extra $3000 for upgraded airline. Again a few weeks before travel they eliminated the Amazon river portion. They eventually said I could put the paid portion towards a European river cruise. A month before that cruise, they informed that ****** had been canceled and I could take another cruise close to the same dates, or get a refund of monies paid. I chose the refund. The following week, I received notification of the companys bankruptcy! Ignoring the $9000 voucher, they considered only my $3000 upgrade as money spent. They offered that as a refund, and then later changed it only to a credit with another travel company. That travel company has no itinerary in which I will be interested. There is no offer of cash refund. Therefore I have lost a total of $12,000. I have been in contact with the attorney, general of ************* and the bankruptcy court; however, I dont expect to receive any refunds at all.Review from bj j

why hasnt anyone put 1+1 together they built 2 new ocean boats at the start of covid. i wrote the pres and of course never got a reply but did get **** doc he got it. i wanted a room named after me since i at least paid for one! took me 18 months to get a refund for a trip that had a new destination from what i booked and then canceled. love my amex platinum card!Review from Linda D

My husband and I had to cancel a trip with vantage because my husband had a heart attack, it has now been 4 months that our insurance claim was approved and sent to vantage to return our money. It was not until the 3rd time it was sent that they finally acknowledged they received it, yet another month has passed and we still dont have our money plus they wont even tell me WHEN they might send it. We made the initial reservation for the Vantage Deluxe World Travel Passage ************** on March 6, 2020 following a very nice Vantage cruise on the Duoro River in ********. This deposit included General *************************** offered through Vantage. The trip was postponed in 2020 due to Covid. The only option given was to reschedule the cruise which we did and paid in full on Aug 5, 2021, total payment to date $17065. The 2021 cruise was also 'postponed' due to Covid.The 2022 cruise was again 'postponed' due to insufficient water in the Danube River.We were encouraged to change to their longer Grand European Cruise which was from *****, ******* to *********, *******. We agreed and on March 22, 2023, we paid an additional $2627. for this longer cruise for a total 'invested' of $19,692. This cruise was scheduled to depart on July 21, 2023. On June 4, 2023, we received an email that the cruise was 'cancelled' and for the first time we were offered a refund rather than just a postponement or alternate cruise. We requested a full refund which they acknowledged. Vantage was unable to provide a 'time line' for the refund.We did file a claim with the insurance claim service, Tripmate. When seeking information from Trip Mate on our claim with them, we were advised by them that 'Vantage is fully responsible for payment'. Neither of the Vantage phone numbers were answered.We learned that on June 29, 2023, Vantage has filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Consequently, unless the new owner, United Travel Pte. **** honors our contract with Vantage, we have no recourse to receive a refund of $ ******** or the opportunity for a replacement trip.Review from Lawrence B

On April 28, 2021, we booked a cruise with Vantage on the Ocean Odyssey that was slated to depart on July 22, 2022, and was set to sail from *********, ******** to **********, *******. We planned to see the Military Tattooan annual military festivalat the **************** in ********. On June 6, 2022, Vantage advised that the Ocean Odyssey was not built due to the ******19 pandemic. Without obtaining any consent from us, Vantage unilaterally rescheduled a different cruise on July 15, 2023. They received no input from us regarding whether they wanted a refund. The rescheduled trip did not include ********* as a port destination. Moreover, we had already traveled to many of the key destinations on the rescheduled trip (i.e., the ****************, and ************ Gems). We have tried unsuccessfully to obtain a refund even though Allianz, the insurer, has told us we are eligible for a refund. Allianz told us that because we never began the trip, they are not responsible for any reimbursement, but that should come from Vantage. Now Vantage has "temporarily" ceased operations. ************** may not be worth the paper it's printed on. We propose a rating less than zero for both companies.Review from Connie M

Like many others, we had taken several trips with Vantage previously and were very happy with the trips, even though their customer ********************** left something to be be desired. We booked a cruise on one of their new ocean vessels for May 2022, called "Eastern Mediterranean Crossing" on May 31, 2021 and paid in full in the amount of $28, 820. They postponed that cruise to November 2022 and then just a month before we were to leave, they cancelled the cruise. They did not offer a refund at that time, so we put the money toward a trip this year -- an African safari that was to depart on August 4, 2023 and they were to refund the balance of the money (about $4500). We never got that refund. Now they have cancelled that trip as well, so we are owed the entire amount that we initially paid of $28,820. I sent an email as directed to their ****************** stating that we wanted a full refund, and although the notification said we would receive confirmation that our choice was processed within 48 hours, it has now been two weeks and I have had no communication from them.Review from Robert G

We made an early $3500 down payment several months ago for October 2023 trip with Vantage this fall to *****/********. We hear the company is in dire straits, canceling all trips through August I believe. I don't want to throw good money after bad and give them balance $16500 which was due today. We may have to eat deposit, but plan to join a lawsuit shortly. Don't give them any money. Very well may just going down a black hole.Review from Deva H

Zero stars. A formerly great travel company has become what appears to be a Ponzi scheme. I was promised a full refund when Vantage canceled our trip. The cancelation notice was only posted on the company's website, not sent to my own email account. I failed to print it out and now find that the cancelation notice and all references to my having booked and paid for trip expunged from My Portfolio on Vantage site. So no refund and no evidence for a claim, and they are still advertising new trips.Review from RICHARD D

We booked a trip with Vantage to ***** and ******** scheduled to depart in Sept, 2022. We paid in full via a wire bank transfer in Oct, 2021. A few days before our departure Vantage notified ** that our trip was postponed until May, 2023. A few days before our new departure Vantage contacted ** that our trip was cancelled. We emailed them and requested a full refund of over $27000.00. After several more attempts to contact them, email, certified mail and voice message, they finally responded via email that they received our request for refund but mentioned "this will take them some time". After several more days of waiting we finally signed up with a ****** attorney as part of a civil law suit against them.
