Complaint: On February 16, 2013 I ordered a Dinner for Two Dining Book and paid online with my credit card. The price was 29.95. I received a confirmation via email for this order. It was stated that it wood be shipped between 6-14 days. On the confirmation email was a phone number to contact them.. After about a week I called the phone number 508-995-4767 to check on the order. A voice recording at the other end of the phone stated that she was either on the phone or away from her desk and could I please leave a message. I left my name along with my phone number. Nothing happened for a couple more days so I checked out the website ad and there was another number 508-673-1400. I called this number and got the same recording as the other number. As of this time my credit card has not been charged. I called both numbers at least thirty (30) times as of today with the same recording. In good faith I ordered this book paid by credit card and this is still up in limbo after all this time. Now I have no idea if they will send the book or charge my credit card. They have all my credit card information and I am not comfortable about this. What will happen if I buy a similar book from someone else and this dining book company sends me this one and charges my credit card. There is no way I can even cancel the order.
Desired Settlement: We are going to the Newport Playhouse in the near future and I need the coupons that are in this book for a discounted price for the Playhouse. I have seven people in my party and it is tough trying to explain what is happening. I would love to have someone just call me and let my know what is going on please. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
Business Response: I am in receipt of your letter dated April 08, 2013 in regard to a complaint from ******* ******. The product which he ordered is out of stock. His credit card has not been charged and his credit card information has been purged. Our customers were who wish to purchase our product are informed via email that it is currently not available at this time, that their card would not be processed, the order is canceled, and that they would be contacted if and when the book is available to see if they still desire to make the purchase. We apologize if Mr. ****** did not receive the email. However, I can assure him that the ordered has been canceled and the card information deleted.
Consumer Response: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.
BBB's Final Determination: Consumer accepted resolution offered by the business.
