Company contacted me beginning April 2020 regarding a medical debt that had been paid by insurance in October 2019. I explained to them the debt was not valid, and to prove the debt in writing, so I can contact the medical company directly. Rick Starr tells me he does not have to take orders from me, and says he knows "higher ups" in the government that will make my life miserable. So I contacted a lawyer, just to get him to quit calling. A cease and desist order was sent to the company, and he reached out once more in May 2020, to say that "pandemics won't stop me from burying worthless debtors." After that conversation, the calls stopped, but the collection action remained on my credit report. Fast forward to October 2021, I use the medical service again. Ironically, they had shown a zero balance on my account before using the service (which means Rick was not truthful) and after insurance was applied again, still shows a zero balance. Yet, this still shows up on my credit report as being an open collection, when it should have never entered collections to begin with. I understand that working collections, and trying to get debts from people who don't have anything is a challenging job. I recognize that intimidating someone is a fine line between being successful in that industry, and illegal. But the disrespect this guy showed even after proving the debt was paid is ridiculous. I normally don't go about trying to ruin a reputation of a business, but for someone to slander my credit report, which was flawless prior to this nonsense, is ludicrous. I don't care to push for legal action. I just want the garbage removed from my credit report. Maybe an apology for being wrong would help too. There are far more important things in life than trying to sink as low as the gentleman on the phone. Realistically, nothing will come of this, because collection practices have not been addressed by the government recently. But they should, and this company should be shut down
