I screwed up not once, but twice, and ACCC was a Godsend both times. I was humiliated to have to enroll a second time, but the counselor was so compassionate and understanding. Folks, I was well over 30,000 in debt and I have 6 payments left after almost 5 years in the program. I cry every time I look at my account online as I see the numbers going down and down. This company could not be any more professional and trustworthy. Everything has always been clearly explained...I knew what to expect even though I had been this way before, but there have never been any "catches" or withdrawals from any of my accounts without my verbal and written approval. Definitely would suggest this company...and I have to my best friend's niece.

ACCC helped me get my financial situation back in control following a divorce. It took nearly five years and a lot of dedication to make it through the program, but I am so glad that I did. They walked me through every step of the process and answered all of my questions. Six years later I am out of debt, have a great credit score, and I am still using the budgeting skills they taught me to improve my situation even further by building up my savings.

By choosing to close my credit cards they caused my credit score to go from seven hundred and seventy to five hundred, and eighty. I would never recommend this service to anyone. It will take me years to repair my credit score.

During the counseling session with this client, it was explained that the closing of accounts would result in a decrease in credit score. At the time of the session, this client’s credit score was 657, not 770 as mentioned. As part of the debt management program, creditors require that accounts are closed. Although this may initially cause a drop in one’s credit score, it will improve as consistent payments are made in the program. With the concessions offered by the creditors, one is generally able to pay off balances much sooner than if one continued to pay the minimum amount due at contractual interest rate. As debt is paid off in the program, one’s debt-to-income ratio will improve and this has a positive effect on the credit score as well. The primary objective of people who join the debt management plan is to get out of debt as quickly as possible. While working toward this goal, ACCC strongly recommends that clients do not obtain any new debt while in the program.

******* is a wonderful antidote for those struggling with finances: a finance professional with a heart. After something like twenty-five years helping families in this way she knows what she's doing, but she chooses to do it with TLC. We'd not sought help for so long because we couldn't bear anyone mirroring our ignorance. ******* does not do that at all. Somehow, she managed to mirror our responsibility, with grace.

I signed up and talked to a representative easily enough, however since it has been one issue after another. They said my bank account number was invalid I corrected that and gave them my routing number again as well. They then said the proposal was rejected due to the 3rd party insurance on the card (mind you I'm only consolidating 2 cards) I took care of that issue. They are now again saying the bank account information is wrong yet again and it ks my fault for not keeping track of if the payments have been taken out or not. I live paycheck to paycheck and pay what I can to who each month so maybe I'm not great about checking my balance on a regular basis. I will give my information one more time and if there is another issue after this I will take my business elsewhere! I am highly annoyed as this is not the first time I have done debt consolidation and consolidated more cards with much less hassle. Wish I could remember that company's name! I would not recommend this company to others

ACCC is committed to providing quality customer service to our clients, unfortunately during this client’s initial call her banking information was incorrectly transcribed by the counselor. ACCC has ensured that the client’s automatic drafts are back in place and we are currently reaching out to the client and her creditors to address any potential issues. With regards to creditor proposal rejections, ACCC has no control over creditor requirements for enrollment and must follow creditor guidelines in order for clients to receive benefits through the Debt Management Program. Once ACCC received the notification from the client’s creditor that a proposal was rejected we contacted the client the same day in order to resolve the issue.

I recently became involved in American Consumer Credit Counseling Debt Management program. After many years of paying consistently high interest rates and now being retired, I felt I just had to make a move towards getting my debt under control. Since the very beginning I have had a pretty positive feeling with ACCC. I have contacted the company both by email and by telephone. They have been responsive either within 24 hours. They have managed to already reduce my debt level with 3 out of 4 companies and their monthly service fee for this service , well I almost couldn't believe it would be that low. I am giving this company a thumbs. At this point I can only say I appreciate all the friendly, patient service I received. Thank you .

I expressed interest in signing up for the program in february, but I did not receive any of the paperwork to enroll in the program until march by that time they had already withdraw the first payment out of my account, I called accc and said that i would like to withdrawal immediately and they said they would issue a refund in 7 to 10 days. Its been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive my refund. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I wish I would have never called. I'm afraid I am out 300 for nothing.

Although the client's paperwork was mailed on February 21, unfortunately it was returned to us for an invalid address on March 4. The client gave us the updated address on March 12 and the paperwork was sent out again that same day. Her first payment was drafted on March 16th. The client requested a refund on March 21, and was correctly told the process for obtaining a refund. The client called back 2 hours later and spoke to another rep that provided incorrect information on the timing of the refund. The client’s full refund was issued on April 8th, which was confirmed with the client during a phone call on April 8th.

I couldn't be happier with my experience with American Consumer Credit Counselors!! I started their program in November 2009 and am now debt free for the first time in my adult life (I am 54 years old). Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I sat down the other night with an incredibly patient man named ***** ***** ******** **** ***** I had no idea what I was in for. I was completely skeptical and totally distracted. With my children and animals screaching and barking in the back ground, ***** patiently took the time to listen to my life story to get the answers he needed to assess my situation. He also went above and beyond and took and actual interest in me and my story. ***** then went through some changes I could make to improve my financial standings. He never once asked for my bank information. We ended our conversation with ***** referring me to several other agencies, helping me print a free credit report (www.annualcredireport.com only once per year and does not effect your credit score), and giving me the time to adjust my budget and figure out who I actually owe. That was two days ago. ***** has not contacted me yet. And man do I ever appreciate him, and his patience. Thanks *****! You are the bestest! :D

I was in the DMP after being referred by a co-worker who was in the program. It took me 18 months to decide to participate in the program as i was very reluctant. The ACCC is the best thing I did. I was able to pay off my debt early and the program gave me NO ISSUES. I highly recommend this company. I was well informed about what to expect and I was never pressured to become a member of the program. A few times (approx 1 or 2 times) I did speak to a mildly rude representative, but like all companies you will get a less than happy employee- it is just human nature, everyone has bad days. ..but I would say when I did have questions they ALWAYS were answered. ACCC did everything they said they were going to do. I did not have any surprises; when I called to cancel I was informed that due to my timing the last payment would still come out of my account but after that my ETF would be canceled. I recommend this company to all family, friends and clients of mine. I advise everyone to just call and talk with a rep, check out the website and become familiar with ACCC before jumping in because not everything is for everyone. I have received positive feedback from my clients/family members who have participated. I was very happy with ACCC they were a very honest company and kept me well informed!
