Additional NotesComplaint: Was given wrong parking advice which resulted in a charge of $30.00 while having a meal at the place of business, Uniion Oyster House Desired Settlement: I have had no response from my letter to this business dated July 24, 2012. I ask the restaurant to accept responsibility for sending us to a garage where they validate the parking ticket and then giving us wrong directions to a different garage where the charge was $30.00. I believe the restaurant should pay for its mistakes and reimburse me at least $20.00. Business Response: Mr. ******** and party dined at the Union Oyster House on 7/23/12. We have a validation program with Parcel #* garage for our guests. Mr. ******** was directed to this garage located about 60 yards from our front door. The hostess pointed to the garage and directed Mr. ******** to turn left, then turn right follow the garage and turn rigt at the next set of lights to enter Parcel # *. Mr. ******** proceeded through two sets of traffic lights and turned left into a garage with which the Union Oyster House has no validation program. As a result, Mr. ******** ended up paying $30.00 to park instead of $3.00. As unfortunate as this is, the Union Oyster House is not accountable for Mr. ********'s failure to enter the correct garage. Consumer Response: Under normal circumstances I believe the Union Oyster should issue to its patrons the proper instructions or none at all. I followed the instructions given to me and the only parking garage I saw was the one I entered. The Union Oyster house could, at the least, give written instructions and the name of the garage which they did not. I will probably never eat there again and I will urge my friends to avoid this restaurant and dine somewhere else.
Business Response: We are sorry that Mr. ******** feels he was directed to the wrong garage. We do post explicit directions on our web site "unionoysterhouse.com". When people ask for directions to the garage at our front desk, we usually point to it as it is at the end of Union Street, (the street our restaurant is on". We instruct them to enter from the opposite side on New Sudbury St. Consumer Response: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint. BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied. |
